Obviously it means Mexico will match donations X 4. In seriousness, probably the Republican committee would, they can send funds to races that they want to win.
Seems like a good spot for this given what is going on in NC with regards to the midterm election... https://www.newsobserver.com/news/politics-government/article228727949.html D'oh!
Shit is hitting the fence in NC...... Rep. Mark Walker (R-NC), a member of House GOP leadership, appears to be the unnamed “Public Official A” in a bombshell public corruption probeunsealed on Tuesday. A federal grand jury indicted four men, including North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Robin Hayes, in a bribery scheme in which businessman Greg Lindberg sought to pressure on the state’s insurance commissioner to fire a deputy in exchange for major campaign contributions that were laundered through the state party and other entities. Included in that indictment: A conversation between Lindberg and an associate about another unnamed lawmaker pressuring North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey (R) to fire his deputy.
Wow....we got our Libertarian candidate. However and very much in the libertarian vein, he has not completely “thought through” his plans". The Libertarian Party has urged Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) to consider mounting a third-party challenge to President Trump in the 2020 presidential election, Roll Call reports. The Michigan Republican said that while he would not “rule out” a bid, he has not completely “thought through” his plans.
That is a very shitty quote job by roll call. Is like they were trying to do a hit job and not actually deliver any news.
I should be surprised that no Republican has even talked about mounting a primary challenge to the least popular president in the modern era.
It is going to be interesting in 10+ years when Maryland starts to feel the actual effects of his policies because he punted the money part of a lot of his infrastructure projects to the future and the other stuff was basically satisfying rural Maryland with the appearance of them "winning" by pushing money towards rural projects instead of going to the black people Baltimore. Plus, some of the bills he signed that had "bipartisan support" were basically bills that the legislature was going to pass veto proof. Then there is the gambling money "lockbox for education" which he attempted to name after himself despite the idea coming from the opposing party who wanted a constitutional amendment and not a law. No one has gotten better press nationally than Hogan for stuff he did not have any control over. This is coming from someone who voted for him. I am kind of waiting to see what he will do with the Carroll County / Howard County road widening. The higher tax county is going to split the cost with the state. The "lower tax" county is likely going to say they can't split the costs once the study is completed sometime this year.
At this point any republican who isn't a complete dick seems like a good guy, just by comparison. To the extent that I have been paying attention while living in VA, he seems OK.
Other than promising to build bigger beltways/highways in some of those areas with the the private/public partnership which hasn't worked as promised financially in NoVa or in Harford County
Of course there has been absolutely zero input from the counties that would be affected and officials are begging to see a legitimate plan. How exactly is 495 going to be expanded in Montgomery County without encroaching on private property? If that's not a concern, I would straighten the damn road out (sorry Kensington). It's funny how he's in favor of the private-public partnership with roads, but killed the approved with federal banking Red line in Baltimore and permanently limited the Purple line between Prince George's and Montgomery County. Driving on the BW Parkway yesterday, I couldn't help but notice a new sign about where state maintenance ends. I assume Maryland wanted to make sure as many people as possible understood that NPS is responsible for the disasters that are the parkways in the Greater DC region. I'm not completely against the state taking over the BW Parkway if that meant a more regular maintenance schedule, better signage and ROW for transit(maglev, high peed rail or whatever). I can be convinced that an additional lane could help, but of course I'm not a fan of tolling the whole thing.
Respect for Beto for calling it like it is..... In Iowa, @BetoORourke says the president’s rhetoric on migrants and calls to ban Muslims sound more like the Third Reich than the USA.Asked about the comparison after the rally, he emphatically stood by it.Watch the exchange here 👇 pic.twitter.com/aAmE3AgWGd— Sahil Kapur (@sahilkapur) April 5, 2019
That is an insane number for a congressional seat in NC. This guy should win that seat easily with that amount of money and the complete clustef*** that is ther NC GOP. Democrat @McCreadyForNC raised $1.6 MILLION in Q1 in his bid for #NC09— Laura Barrón-López (@lbarronlopez) April 9, 2019
Sadly, Dem voters don't usually show up for special elections. Maybe this case will be different, given the GOP scandal, but I wouldn't count on it.
