To try and clarify MLS rules as applied to non-preferred teams like the Union: Missed SKC due to red card in previous game. Will miss the next MLS game (Cbus) for accumulation. At least I think that is how it is applied.
@Cherry Hill SOB is correct. Elliott had 4 YCs on the season going into the Seattle game. By getting 2 YCs, he gets suspended for the next game. The red card adds an additional game.
Hopefully they play the B-team that beat SKC last weekend, 'cause the varsity team looks shell-shocked right now.
Will be golfing with a bunch of buddies on Saturday, followed by beers, cigars, debauchery, watching the Ryder Cup on delay, etc. Will help keep my mind off of last night's shit-show.
Yeah after taking off their shorts and squatting out a turd like they did last night in Houston I would think a draw would be a good result at this point.
Seriously hoping last night doesn't start a downward trend. Loss at Columbus, combined with DCU or Montreal winning (and not drawing), and we could end up back in 6th depending on how far we slide over the coming matches. Trying to think positively, though, and we can grab 4th. I'd love to have a home playoff match!
I voted loss. Just can't see Curtin getting them up for this after the shit-show in Houston. I'd love to be proven wrong. I like the B team suggestion someone made in an earlier post. Give Accam a start and tell him to go prove a point and let Simpson ride the high of his brace to another good match.
This will be a loss....the Union have rarely played well in Ohio. I wouldn't be surprised if the play on the field looks a lot better though. The Crew won't be bunkering, so at least the game should flow better.
I've already seen one of those happen at Crew Stadium in 2009! ETA: This was the match where we were all almost killed by tornadoes & lightning before they opened the stadium. Oh...and our bus driver neglected to tell us that he had to take a required amount of rest before driving us home, so we didn't get to leave Columbus until after Midnight.
