I don't see how the Union get any points in this game. I don't see how I can stay up to watch the game. Everybody loses.
Philadelphia playing well, but Seattle is playing equally as well. The flight out, and the Seattle fans give them the edge. Tough spot for this match, and we take 0 points.
The Union should just forfeit this match. Barring that, just send players who have never made the game day roster. Playing this match only has downsides. The travel, the risk of injury, and the momentum killing.
Right. We only break losing streaks. As we've noted before, this game should have been played back in March, when Seattle was playing like crap. Now they're the hottest team in the league.
I like the league bent over backwards to reschedule this game for Seattles "Cup Run." Yet the league has made ZERO effort to reschedule the SKC game to Saturday to help the Union out in their Cup Run..........
FWIW, we really sucked at that time too. Our current form isn't quite as hot as Seattle, but it's certainly much improved from when the game was originally scheduled. The league regularly reschedules games for CCL matches, but I don't think they've ever done it for a USOC final, even when teams like Seattle are playing. I think the real issue is that US Soccer always schedules the cup final mid week and not on a weekend. If they held it on a Saturday, attendance would be better and MLS would have to reschedule league games, which would increase the prestige of that tournament. Edit: hey Dills, did you see that? Did I do that right? Two quotes in one reply!
They look BAAAAD tonight...even worse than they did against Montreal. Even Tommy thinks they look like crap.
