I'll have to miss this one. Started a new job and have to work. I'll catch it on DVR when I get home. This is a must win game though.
Curtin said yesterday that Dockal trained at 100%, that they would see how he feels today, but that he is pushing to play on Saturday. Montreal is so unpredictable. They have so many weapons but have trouble putting it together sometimes. A win gives the Union a lot of breathing room. A loss coupled with DC beating the Red Bulls on Sunday and we start talking about another Union late season collapse.
Curtin said Borek Dockal was back in training today and "looked sharp"— Matthew De George (@sportsdoctormd) September 12, 2018 Union's injury report. Both Borek Dockal and Ilsinho listed as questionable. Anthony Fontana off it all together. pic.twitter.com/wLt2zhdNoD— Matthew De George (@sportsdoctormd) September 14, 2018
Huge first career goal from Trusty off some lovely service from Dočkal. Since then it's been disastrous. Goals from Silva on the break and Taïder on a rebound. Certainly seems like there will be more goals in this one. Union cannot afford to lose this match given the upcoming schedule.
One team is playing like their season depends on it. The other is playing like they are already in the playoffs. It's pretty simple.
As someone sitting in the river side Gaddis is getting killed out there. Gave up the first goal and could have given up three others
Weather gets cooler. Hurricane season ramps up. Union collapse. All we need now is to turn the clocks back an hour and fall will be completely here. That seemed more like fafas fault to me. Whatever, it can be his fault, too.
My wife wasn't feeling well so we decided to not go down for the game. That move looks very wise in retrospect.
If the Union are going to suck they should at least suck consistently. Getting these brief glimpses of an actual, good soccer team only to pull the rug out at the last minute are even crueler than just sucking generally.
