First one to vote win (I think that's a first). I'm still not 100% sure that TFC knows who they are, and we're in our house.
No Bedoya or Medunjanin...........although if the Union are going to beat TFC, they likely won't have a better chance than Friday. Realsitically, the Union NEED to win Friday to keep their very razor thin playoff contention hopes alive.
I know this is going to sound strangely optimistic...but Warren Creavalle has been playing rather well when used thus far this year. And I have a weird feeling that he will make a good pairing with Fontana. Toronto isn't what they were last year and the Union are going to come out playing angry in front of what I think will be a decent crowd. I'm going with Union win. 2-0.
I voted win, completely forgetting Bedoya and Haris will be out. Oops. Fortunately, it's easy to change the vote. Loss.
At the very least we shouldn't see any referee fiascos. Baldemero Toledo will be heading the officiating crew on Friday. We are 6-10-2 all-time when he refs. He has only shown us 1.22 yellow cards/game in that time. He has only EVER shown us 1 red card in 18 games...the culprit? Danny Califf's infamous elbow against Toronto back in the year of ZOLO. (0:50 second mark of the video)
My favorite part is that he puts his hands up like he's shocked at the call and that he didn't do anything.
I'm still in shock that TFC hasn't figured out how to put the pieces together yet. Hopefully the slumpbusters don't work their magic.
and then they imploded. Red Card upheld: More breaking news:Alejandro Bedoya's red card has been upheld by the review committee.Jim Curtin is taking the podium right now. Pass the hat, because there are probably fireworks coming.— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) June 7, 2018 also noteworthy: Curtin hints a longer suspension might be coming for Haris Medunjanin— Philly Soccer Page (@phillysoccerpg) June 7, 2018
Curtin said yesterday that Creavalle will start and that he expects to send out an "offense minded" team. Curtin was not happy with Jones' performance on Wednesday. All of that that indicates to me that Fontana (or maybe Ilsinho) will start over Jones. Curtin also hinted that the Union might be using a different formation tonight. CJ or Cory? Ray or Fabinho? Accam or Epps? Here's my guess: Sapong Picault-Dockal-Epps Creavalle-Fontana Gaddis-Trusty-McKenzie-Rosenberry Blake I think that Creavalle will play a more traditional 6 and Creavalle will play a more traditional 8. It may look more like a 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2 diamond. Thoughts/guesses?
I think you nailed it with that lineup. MAYBE we Accam and Fafa both starting, Epps has a lot of minutes on his legs recently.
starting XI: Andre Blake; Keegan Rosenberry, Mark McKenzie, Auston Trusty, Ray Gaddis; Warren Creavalle, Borek Dockal; Marcus Epps, Ilsinho, Fafa Picaut; CJ Sapong 4 -1-4-1? 4-3-3-1? WTF?
