2018 US Open Cup just got more rewarding: USSF announces changes, format, dates and team entries Posted by Ian Foster March 14, 2018
US Open Cup starts locally tomorrow May 9th. Western Mass. Pioneers (PDL) vs Elm City Express (NPSL) 7pm at Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow, and Seacoast United Phantoms (PDL) vs Kendall Wanderers (USASA) 7:30pm at Seacoast United Sports Park in Amesbury.
Pioneers out, 2-1 loss after giving up 82nd minute goal to Elm City. I went to the Phantoms game in Amesbury. They won on PKs after 2-2 game. Up a man for most of the game after an early red card but fell behind and then tied it right before half. Took the lead in the 86th only to see Kendall tie it at the death. Fun game, decent crowd. Lots of kids in Seacoast gear and the Wanderers had a spirited away crowd.
But don't forget the real highlight of the early USOC rounds: Brooklyn Italians 3, NY Cosmos 2. What kinda mamalukes do those Cosmos guys think they are, anyways? I mean, you gotta be a real stugatz to think you gonna beat the Brooklyn Italians! Marone! He's standing over there like a giaguice with his dick in his hand, claiming that Pele usta play for them! Yeah, where's Pele now, huh? Even though he's an old man, youze guys coulda used him last night! Then he goes t'me, he goes, "No, this is a different Cosmos, you gotta be specific." Be pacific? my yass! Yeah, if you don't shaddap, yaw gonna be swimmin in the Atlantic! Now I gotta go, my gabagol is ready!
Round 2 Open Cup Game tonight in Amesbury between Seacoast Phantoms (PDL) and Elm City (NPSL) at 7:30pm.
4th Round Draw today, the Revs will be in a quadrant with NYCFC, RBNY and Louisville FC. Louisville had no one in their region so got tossed in with us after a coin flip.

Well that's a good draw. At least one of the NY teams will get knocked out. I forgot, but I think I remember the next round being a re-draw, so if we win, we could get someone other than NYCFC or Red Bull
U.S. Open CupVerified account @opencup May 25 #USOC2018 Date Change The Fourth Round game between @loucityfc & @NERevolution will now be played on Tues. June 5 @ 7 p.m. ET @ Lynn Stadium (Univ. of Louisville).
Probably a little improvement for the Revs busy schedule time, just because they will return from this trip a day earlier. I expect a reserve-heavy lineup for this game, so I don't think there's much of a fatigue factor, other than the travel - which will include some regulars, even if they don't play.
LAFC advance to the final 8 in their first USOC, with help from two former Revs: Feilhaber (goal) and Nguyen (assist).
Louisville City FC, the team that beat the Revs, knocked off Nashville FC to become the only non-MLS team left in the tournament. The final 8 are set for July 18th: ORL @PHI LOU @CHI SKC @HOU POR @LAFC
Beautifully ironic considering the chants of "Buffalo Bills" that the SOBs rained down upon us at RFK in MLS Cup 2007.
