How we look tonight vs. the @NewYorkRedBulls 4-2-3-1 | #ScarvesUpMN pic.twitter.com/TfFImZimT1— Minnesota United FC (@MNUFC) March 24, 2018 The rookies are getting some time.
Well, that was moderately wretched. But, with an entirely new back line, including two rookies getting their first MLS minutes as starters, it's about what I expected.
When my 10 year old daughter was telling Shep Messing to "Shut up," I knew I had to turn it off. Things were certainly not clicking Saturday, though I can say there were some good points. Afraid Burch is a bench player at best....tentative going forward and can not shut them down on defense. NYRB were very impressive, even besides BWP individual skill. Glad we are not in the East.
Just a reminder, the Atlanta game will be on Saturday night....and it is going to be a bit colder than the Opener. Dress warm(er).

Tease: #MNUFC’s holding midfielder Maximiano looked pretty, pretty, pretty strong, poised and precise in solo post-practice ball drills Tuesday. Brazilian loanee is nine months into his ACL rehab, and Loons have been cautious with him since his arrival.— Andy Greder (@andygreder) March 27, 2018
Minnesota United vs. Atlanta United | #MINvATL Date: Saturday, March 31, 2018 (Match was originally scheduled for April 1, 2018) Kickoff: 7:00 p.m. CT Location: TCF Bank Stadium Broadcast: Fox Sports Go, 1500 ESPN (coverage starts at 6:30 p.m.) Remember to dress warm!
See you at the game, and remember, Har Mar Superstar will be performing the National Anthem. I’m not an overly patriotic dude, but I am pretty psyched to wear these socks while I sing the National Anthem at the @mnufc match tonight. #MNunited pic.twitter.com/RLHK54LD8p— Har Mar Superstar (@HarMarSuperstar) March 31, 2018
That game was chilly including the play. I still have my toes but my beer did freeze. It wasn’t fun to watch nothing happen with crosses into the box in added time up a man.
Yep..how much colder was that than last year's game with Atlanta? Sure felt colder with that wind. I would say, I haven't felt that cold since I saw the Vikings at met Stadium. Agreed on the crossing game. Expected more shots from top of box, but that just isn't in Ibson's and Schuller's game. I also would have thought Kallman would have come on for Burch instead of Toye. ....especially if you want the best guy who can head on the team on. Let's hope Danladi and Ramirez get their injuries settled and their mojo working.
I agree when they put on 7 minutes of added time was happy but also cold. I was joking with people around me about how much added time they would give us due to the weather. We should of had at least had an equalizer. We had nothing going inside the box. I also though it was much colder with the wind. I was happy with the attendance though.
Meg Ryan blog http://www.startribune.com/former-p...d-while-he-searches-for-a-new-team/478788643/ Forward Christian Ramirez and outside backs Tyrone Mears and Jerome Thiesson were not practicing. Ramirez biked on the side and was wearing a boot on his left ankle. Heath said the striker had an injection "the other day" and will rest his ankle for two or three days before having all of next week to regain match fitness. ------- As far as when holding midfielder Maximiano will play, Heath said it's been a week-to-week acclimation process for the Brazilian coming off an ACL injury last summer. He said the team will decide at the end of this week if it can fully integrate Maximiano into training with the idea that he'll play at Portland. But if not then, it could be the Seattle game April 22 or the Houston game April 28. Heath said new designated player Darwin Quintero will do more tactical work next week so he's ready to play at Portland. Right now, the players are still trying to feel out where is best to give him the ball and how to run off him.

How many of these "we look better than last year, but we still make dumb mistakes and lose points" games are we going to have to endure? I don't think we will ever win a game with Burch in the lineup. Happily pleased with Manley. Gomez's papers can't come soon enough. And as much as I love Calvo, he has not had a good couple of weeks. DQ!!!!!! (On MLS team of the week). Ramirez. I think when he and DQ get better connected, this is going to be really good. However, it's obvious CR is still "ankle shy" and not 100% fit. He's defo not going full into the play. I do agree that with DQ coming in, they are also going to need a dedicated 6. Which gets me to Schuller and Ibson. Both had up and down games, good periods and then brain farts of the highest order. Thought the kick on DQ should have been at least a yellow. Bit surprised they missed that. Anyway, hope everyone was safe during the storm.

Agreed. On defense, we need someone playing a 6 AT THE VERY LEAST. People can demand Kallman play, but you are still going to bleed goals if we can not provide better cover in front of them. And here we are just hoping that Gomez and Maximiano are good. No idea why Danladi started yesterday. CR should have been on the field minute one. Thought Schuller and Ibson were fairly dreadful as well. Still waiting on word on the injuries to Danladi and Finley. For the life of me, I can't understand why the team knew what its weakness was from last season and didn't take major steps in correcting it.
