Sounds good to me. I hope we do everything we can to win our rights. For the first time in Years Iran is the source of joy for our football team. [emoji38]
To be honest I would like to avoid the drama and just play them in Iraq. I'm getting sick of the neutral venues where we are supposed to play at home. Iraq and Syria are basically ********ed. Already tough groups + no home advantage is just killing and ruins the fun.
We have to face the reality and accept what we can have. I would like to thank Iran for their good well gustier. Really, we should be thankful. I am thankful. Btw we are facing KSA in our second round so we wont be worried about traveling from Australia to Iran to face Saudi Arabia in those 5 days short period. We will give our best against Australia putting in our mind the very next game is 3 points for Iraq. Then we'll have one moth of preparation for Japan in Japan. Once we finish those games the rest are easier considering we have our home advantage in the away games.
Very happy with the draw from an Australian perspective. Apart from UAE, I think we ended up with the weaker team of all the pairs. The only challenge will be picking up points in the Middle East. Good results on matchday 2 and 3 away to UAE and Saudi and we should be set up for a comfortable run through to Russia, not like last time. Since joining Asia we are 3 wins 0 loses to Saudi including 1 away, 1 win 2 draws to UAE including 2 away and 4 wins 2 loses with Iraq including 2 wins 1 loss away (UAE/Qatar).
Whatever happened between us in geopolitics and Asian Cup aside, You have a blank check with whatever you need to bring down Saudi. Have at it. Do it for Asia.
Japan Australia Iraq (If we can get our shit together) UAE Thailand Saudi Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
I am neutral on Saudi team vs Iraqi team. May the best team wins. Politics should not be mixed with football. My prediction Japan Australia UAE (if uae intentionally doesn't give away points to KSA ) Iraq KSA Thailand
LOL apparently Saudi also refuses to go to Thailand. http://footballitarin.com/link_page.php?id=290063 For those wondering why...just look up at Thailand-Saudi relations.
I think 20 points will pretty much guarantee you a place in the top two, less if there are a few draws. The question is how to accumulate them. For us, and considering our past record, we should be aiming for a minimum of 13 points at home. To get to 20 we then need 7 away points which can only be accumulated by winning two away games and drawing one, which allows for two losses. Hopefully those losses don't come in our first two away games against UEA and KSA, and the home draw doesn't come in the very first game against Iraq.
20 pts secure WC and 13 pts at home, I am thinking almost same. In this calendar, Japan have 3 home matches and an away match against weakest Thailand at the first half. It means we need to grab more points in this year. So we would like to visit Sydney(or Melbourne? ) with 9 pts after first 3 matches against UAE(H), Thailand(A) and Iraq(H). Then the first match against UAE is the most important. This is also revenge match of terrible AC15 for us. If we could get a good start at home, picking up 3pts at Bangkok won't be very difficult.
Wasn't quite a walk in the park last time for us. We needed to win our last game and left it pretty late to get a winner in that game.
Saudis willing to send their players to die and not to play in Iran. They accepted to play in Iraq if FIFA agrees. lol
Please Basra please [emoji173] But still playing in Iran would be good lol it would be the only time they would support us, that stadium we use there would be overcrowded [emoji23]
You know what i hope its in Karbalaa lol We built an amazing stadium in Karabala Karbalaa Olympic Stadium Basra Stadium is amazing too But I'd rather them to come in Karabalaa to feel the Shiaa's chanting power haha
They mistreated our players last time in Saudi Arabia. They are scared we return the favor. (half day delaying entree to airport, 5 hours delay finger printing and not allowing the team to pass through the gates, no training facilities, fighting during the match, burning flags, cursing players, not protecting the team after the match was ended letting spectators to fight with Iranian players...)
