What you mean because Toronto didn't make it?! Makes no difference whatsoever to me... I'd only go to the final, and I want to see a UEFA vs Conmebol final. Seen both Chivas and Toronto in North America, so would be bitterly disappointed if either of those teams crashed the final actually .... was going to go for last years but went to Djibouti instead as it was during our national day break. A bit off topic, but will definitely, definitely try to go to the Asian Cup final next year. Any idea when those tickets go on sale? I think it will be easier for you to come to Qatar than for me to go to UAE. I still hear of stories of people being turned away or scrutinized at UAE customs when entering from Oman or Kuwait with loads of old Qatar residency visas and stamps in their passports and no further flights from Oman / Kuwait. I think Qatar just lets anyone in...
That's what I meant. My question was blockade related. I'm sure I would have no problem getting into Qatar but I don't want to answer a lot of questions coming home explaining why I was in Qatar. Not sure about the Asian Cup Tickets. Haven't seen it advertised yet.

FULL TIME | We've done it! Absolute senes here at Kiwitea Street as #teedubs advance on away goals! Finals here we come! #OFCCL #AUCWLG (2-2) pic.twitter.com/7U2iqA3gKE— Team Wellington (@TeamWelly) April 29, 2018 Team Wellington has finally pulled it off! Seven years of consecutive titles for ACFC come to an end.
...and they are joined in the final by Fiji’s Lautoka FC. OFC Final: Team Wellington (NZL) - Lautoka FC (Fiji)
Now let's see if Lautoka have it in them to take it one step further and interrupt New Zealand's winning streak altogether! Whatever the outcome for Team Wellington, it looks like they may soon be the top address in Wellington with the A-League's Wellington Phoenix on the verge of folding. While we are in Asian club football, India still seem far away from sorting out their club football mess. In any case - UEFA semis this week!
That would be sad if they folded. Aren't they one of the very very few clubs (perhaps the only club?) that have no pathway to qualify for the FCWC since they're an OFC-based club playing in an AFC domestic league?
Also, haven't some Caribbean leagues been excluded from the qualifying stage in CONCACAF based on not meeting some standards? But I think @unclesox is talking about intra-league "design flaws". Real Madrid - Bayern tonight. Should be a good one.
who do u want to win this... Real gets Ronaldo again in AD, but do u want to see a different team in the UAE next December?
Well, I missed both Real Madrid games last year due to an untimely trip to India so that's not a consideration for me. Don't really have a particular preference. Each one has an attractive angle. Liverpool could be fun with the involvement of the large English and Egyptian (Salah) expat communities.
Not to mention involvement by a Premier League club was the last time UEFA failed to win the tournament.
Since you asked: technically, it is not a hard exclusion. The Caribbean leagues that don't meet Concacaf's new professional standards get to send teams to the Caribbean Club Shield. Then, the winner of the Shield (Club Franciscain of Martinique, this year) gets to play off with the fourth-place finisher from the pro-tier Caribbean Club Championship for a Concacaf League berth if they meet the necessary standards.
Well, unless Roma mount an incredible comeback in the second half we got ourselves a Real Madrid - Liverpool final in Kiev.
Not that Real Madrid's defense was beyond scrutiny. In a number of ways Bayern beat themselves. In any case, I may get to see RM/Ronaldo after all... UEFA Final: Real Madrid (Spain) - Liverpool (England) Liverpool are the biggest name in European club football without a club world title. Five UEFA Champions League titles have so far not led to any global honours: 1977: Liverpool declined participation 1978: No Intercontinental Cup held 1981: Loss to Flamengo (Brazil) 1984: Loss to Independiente (Argentina) 2005: Loss to Sao Paulo (Brazil)
If Liverpool wins the UCL I will congratulate CONMEBOL on the spot. (England has an awful record. Something like 2 out of 10 competitions played)
It will be interesting see what Canada does when their Premier league starts up. Will Toronto, VCR and Montreal be in the same predicament? I doubt it somehow. I wonder why NZ doesn’t have a mini tournament involving the top team(s) from their league along with the teams playing in foreign leagues.
One of the favs in CONMEBoL are already in major trouble. Boca needs to hope Palmeiras does them a big favor in two weeks.
