Less than a week, actually. Their four are Sat -> Fri. Bermuda has the same but from Mon -> Sun. The other three teams at least get a bye in the middle of the schedule. It's the same thing that happened in the 2018 Copa America - the first group stage was 5 matchdays in a 9-day span. Part of the problem is 5-team groups, but even a 6-team group would need 5 matchdays. The bigger problem is that WoSo isn't funded enough to have tournaments were organizers can afford facilities for long enough. I bet the fact that most of the NTs we're looking at are so barebones than shutting down club play for extended periods of time is also a really hard sell.
Understood--but, good grief: that's an absurdly demanding schedule. We'll see who's got depth and who not. The regulars will be in a bad way by game 4, if not game 3.
Exactly! I don't think I've ever seen a men's tournament that had every-other-day games. Every third days is the worst I've seen. The poor ladies are getting played to death. And that's not a huge exaggeration - just look at how often WoSo players seem to get injured when trying to balance club and country. It's awful.
Central America qualifiers, originally slated to start June 6, have been moved to August 28 - September 2.
Central American qualifiers, originally to be held in Nicaragua, will now be moved to either Costa Rica or El Salvador. Dates may have to be changed again.
Unrest in Nicaragua, people protesting the corruption of their strongman, his military is shooting protesters.
USA to host Central America qualifiers. I guess no one else could fill in last minute. http://www.concacaf.com/en/article/...18-concacaf-central-america-women-s-qualifier
Panama will be part of this tournament too. In Bradenton, Fl. USA August 27 Panama vs Nicaragua Costa Rica vs El Salvador August 29 El Salvador vs Panama Costa Rica vs Nicaragua August 31 Panama vs Costa Rica Nicaragua vs El Salvador
I guess CONCACAF talked Panama into participating. The schedule last week only had Nicaragua, El Salvador & Costa Rica.

Note the CFU schedule now has a slightly different match order (bottom of this link) - http://www.loopjamaica.com/content/concacaf-womens-champs-qualifying-resumes-jamaica-saturday (Archived)
Jamaica 9-0 Antigua & Barbuda Trinidad & Tobago 3-2 Cuba By tradition, everything indicates that Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Cuba will occupy the first 3 places. We'll have to wait and see what Bermuda brings
I wouldn't count out Bermuda. They played well in the preliminary round. But Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago should be locks.
I wouldn't use the surprised face for this, I don't think.... A&B are a minnow that only got in through a weak group, while Jamaica has routinely been the best of the CFU. 6-0 or 7-0 might have been slightly more reasonable, but it's not 12+
To quote Jamaican coach, from the Central American & Caribbean Games thread: "We're competitors, we're athletes. Wewannawin. We'regoingdowntheretowin, we'renotgoingdowntheretojustshowup, inourgoodcolours"
Respectfully disagree. There have been enough double-digit scores in WoSo, and particularly the CONCACAF competitions, that the difference between a minnow and power is going to be particularly wide. In fact, if you go by FIFA rankings, there are plenty of qualifying matches around the world were 6-0 isn't enough to fully quantify the difference in rankings.
The fact they're called the REGGAE GIRLZ should cause everyone to support them at all times, including against your own country. (I don't know much else about them, but it's a good name.) The $500 ticket price is actually correct, as the Jamaican dollar is absurdly inflated and $1 American can now buy you J$138... So, the match entry fee is really quite reasonable, just one Nanny of the Maroons.
Costa Rica and Panama start on the right foot in UNCAF tournament in Florida Costa Rica 11-0 El Salvador Panama 4-0 Nicaragua CR vs ELS PAN vs NIC
