If the score holds and Panama wins with PKs they REALLY need to schedule a BUNCH of friendlies even against club or college or younger boys teams. Jamaica is doing something I have always thought was stupid. They changed their keeper for the shootout.
Gosh Bailey looks calm!!! She has the presence of mind to cool her hands in preparation for the shootout. Maybe no one has told her how important this is!
The answer is simple, after the first two they did not shoot the ball. They passed it to the Jamaican keeper.
The Dodgers are winning in the 7th inning so there's tons of game left. I'm assuming the US-Canada game will probably start around 5:45PM
In what time zone? Baseball is so slow that game might last until midnight here on the right coast. Edit: Of course that does not really matter to the US start time just where Fox puts the match.
I'm not. Banini is the best overall player on the field in that match up. Besides, it's more important for the women's game going forward for Argentina to qualify for the World Cup than it is for Panama. Messi can then promote the women's game in Argentina, and finally that can enable some additional attention and awareness to the strong Argentina fan-base from the men's team to increase their viewership toward the women's team as well. Do the right thing Messi.
Watching Jamaica's coach cry as they celebrated made me cry. You can tell they've worked very hard to get this program on their feet after being inactive from 2009-2013.
If Canada wants to have a chance to beat the USA, they have to play much faster than they have in the last 4 games. It was almost jarring watching them go at such a slow tempo compared to what the USA has done.
I dunno... the only other time I've ever seen a team make a keeper sub right before PKs happen was the Costa Rica-Netherlands quaterfinal at the 2014 MWC. The Netherlands made the keeper switch... and then beat Costa Rica. So, between that game and this one, every keeper switch I've seen has been successful in winning the shootout! X-D
The Netherlands men changed keepers in a World Cup knockout match four years ago and the guy saved two PKs and the Dutch won the match.

US has dominated this game even if the finishing hasn't been sharp. The passing from the US' front 6 has been even sloppier than the finishing, though, which has given Canada some decent opportunities.
Jamaica's historic qualification. https://www.fifa.com/womensworldcup...-football?_branch_match_id=332598583015304254
