The 3rd time the Galaxy played a decent squad, and still lost. The midweek travel and lack of motivation basically led to the Railhawks having our number every single year.
Jozy shows class in reply to racist fan of Tigres on Twitter: http://www.record.com.mx/empelotados/altidore-responde-mensaje-racista-aficionado-de-tigres "I hope you have a career-ending injury you f--ng n---r sh-ty monkey son of a b--ch you play soccer like a little girl your mother is a..." etc. Jozy replies: "Thank you for your support, these are nice words friend. My best wishes for you and your family. Regards." Top Class.
If anybody here cares about the first game tonight, America will be using the normal starting keeper and backline, but the midfield and forwards will be entirely bench players. Most of the top attacking talent did not even make the trip. One player who will be starting tonight is Carlos Darwin Quintero, who has been on MLS's radar recently. The Earthquakes nearly bought him last year, and Minnesota is trying to get him now. Adrian Heath and Manny Lagos are going to be in Panama for the game.
Looks like Tuca Ferretti is still paying his debt to Karma for disrespecting international play in the past (both, CCL and Libertadores) by playing scrubs. Now that he's actually trying to win it simply won't happen. All that player investment in recent years and still no international title to Tigres' name. No CCL and no Copa Libertadores. Instead Tigres is the only Mexican club to have lost two home and away series to MLS opposition. These can't be happy times at El Volcán.
Bit us in the preseason... Victor Rodriguez has been out. Alonso is out till April... Kelvin Leerdam was out as well to start the season. Although we are starting to get some people healthy now.
The question is: can America hold off Tauro? After all, everybody knows 4-0 is the most dangerous lead in soccer.
And that's why I think those thinking the Sounders have it in the bag are misguided. Chivas is one of the Grandes for a reason.
beating Chivas in their own homefield is going to be a tall order for sure--but then again Tigres was supposed to have advanced...
