The obvious ones: Han Chan Hee, Hwang Ki Wook, Paik Seung Ho (tbf injured), Kang Hyun Moo, Seo Young Jae (instead of Lee Si Young).
Already mentioned HCH. PSH was injured. Not sure if SYJ, HKW, and KHM deserve the spot over LKI just because they are older.
Not over LKI but over others in the team. I have mixed feelings about LKI's exclusion. On one hand I think it could've been a great opportunity to get exempted early, plus getting first experience with his future NT hyungs, but on the other hand, we don't know if he had the mental strength to stand the pressure at such a young age. It went very fast with pre-season and 1st team debut. Imagine he would've underperformed in this tournament. Stupid Koreans would've criticised him for being overrated. I think if he can get involved often with his current generation, get international experience (U20 WC '19, OG '20) and at the same time continues to develop as a Valencia B player, that might be much better for his development in long perspective. But as I said, I would've also loved it if he got called up, just need to be cautious. He's our biggest gem.
maybe LSW is reading BSK posts...lol have you noticed that he doesn't throw much tantrum, less of a drama queen?
I was thinking Rooney because his aggressive pursuit to regain possession can be slightly reckless. Although full disclosure I haven’t seen LSW play much. Just felt it on a couple occasions in today’s match.
Hoping he can develop into an Insigne for us. Would like him to bulk up but idk how that would affect his agility.
LOL @ 월남 A documentary on Park Hang Seo I am very happy for him and for Vietnam. I know this is a bit odd but I feel like we kinda owe them for what happened during the Vietnam War.
Agent Park. Was guaranteed a brand new house, a car and some happy endings upon his return to Korea for throwing the match. Thank you Agent Park.
He's had decent games, but I don't recall him ever being very dangerous or incisive. That's my issue with him as an attacker. Even when he's on, he's not much of a goalscoring or playmaking threat. He thrives when he has someone creative and skilled guiding him, but it's as a facilitator, pressuring and running. His movement and line breaking may be enough to get him to decent positions, but he never seems to know what he has to do. It's because his movement and line breaking are good by virtue of his athleticism and dogged nature, not because he's actually a talented offensive player. Simply put, he gets in those positions because he runs a lot and is fast and strong. Does that have its merits? Of course. But I simply don't think that a team should depend on a guy who can't score or pass to be a forward. His lack of offensive consistently shows through in his play. He gets the ball in decent positions but has no idea what to do, often looking lost when all he has to do is to commit to a pass or a shot. How many times have we seen get the ball and freeze for a second, only to get dispossessed or miss out on an easy pass or shot? I just don't think its something that will get better with time for him. Guys who have real positioning and linebreaking talent move a lot more intelligently than HHC does, consistently putting themselves in positions where they can score off tap-ins and rebounds. They know exactly what they want to do once they receive the ball, because they are fully aware of their surroundings (which is why they were able to get to that position in the first place). HHC clearly doesn't have that kind of awareness, and as a result, he doesn't score many easy goals as he could, and his final ball is almost always shit. He is by nature a facilitator, not a scorer nor a playmaker. In my opinion, a forward needs to have a good amount offensive feel no matter what. I don't think he'll ever work as a forward in a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1. Maybe a wing forward in a 4-3-3, but he'd essentially be playing as a midfielder in such a set up, given the way he plays. I really think there are better ways to maximize HHC's potential. Hope he proves me wrong though, seriously.
1) he's literally a national hero rn all my vietnamese friends say so 2) Only in korea do national heroes turn into evildoers in the blink of an eye
He already is by a minority of Vietnamese netizens. Majority thank him for bringing them this far though. Enough with the 헬조선 bullshit mate.
True. As others have noted, we should keep the quality of the opponents in mind (when evaluating HEJ's potential for full MNT)
