Yes, he was, but it will surely help if Moriyasu gave him some more minutes to improve his form.

It only took him couple of games at Alaves to get back in form.

Real Betis playstyle did not suit him, the same with Shibasaki at Getafe.

It's like he moved from a club where he offered additional "squad depth" to a club that knew it wanted/needed him.

Does the club have the option to make the loan move permanent at the end of the season?

Alaves trying to secure a permanent deal for Inui, and they also trying to get 21-year old attacking midfielder Atsushi Kurokawa during this summer window:

Kurokawa is currently playing for J2 Hollyhook for the second season in a row in loan from Omiya Ardija.

Kurokawa is a beast, he's one of the revelation of these first months!

About Inui, Asier Garitano is the new manager of Alavés, not to be mistaken with Gaizka Garitano (the same who coached him at Eibar). Staying would be a wise choice, despite Betis are also going to change manager (no more Quique for them).

Excited to hear that they're potentially chasing down a younger Japanese player. I'm both impressed and pleased that a La Liga team is scouting the J2.

As for Inui, with both teams getting new managers, choices, choices. Either way I hope he chooses the option that gives him the most amount of playing time. Especially at his age I'm not interested in seeing him sitting on the bench.

There was some article a month or two back about some company who have taken scouting to another level and basically clubs sign up for a subscription to their service. That's why we've had a few unusual names come into the J.League lately.
