Wigan winning won't help. Reading pick up a point on the road, as well. They're still there for the taking, though.
Looking on the bright side today was Wigan's easiest remaining fixture. My main concern is half of our remaining fixtures are away from home and we've only won 1 away all season, albeit very recently.
Our hopes of staying in the Championship looked dead and buried at half time, in the end results could have been a bit better but what a difference 45 minutes makes.

What a depressing game..... 1-0 up against 10 men at half time but the sending off was like poking a bear, we need the better quality teams to be a bit complacent but Villa came out second half playing like a team possessed and played us off the park. At least other result went our way again.
Stoke score 2 goals inside 2 minutes after a promising start, bah I'm fast losing hope now. If we had been 5% better over the course of the season we'd have been comfortably safe with the points we've dropped but we seem to have always come up a little bit short at crucial times. Looking at results elsewhere and Millwall's recent form I think our only hope now is that Wigan finish the season in worse form than us.
What a second half, 2-2 FT. Both Millwall and Wigan have difficult fixtures for their games in hand so hopefully they'll both lose although I think it's between us and Wigan now. What a rollercoaster, just when I start to lose hope the players respond and I'm back to believing we can stay up.
Wigan nearly beat Norwich so I'm not feeling so confident now. We're going to need to beat either Swansea or Birmingham (4-6pts would be even better) and then hope West Brom and Middlesbrough are wrapping their players in cotton wool ready for the playoffs or in Middlesbrough's case have nothing to play for.
That looks like that then. We lost 4-3 but the main killer today is Leeds losing against 10 man Wigan after being 1-0 up, I'm not sure whether to praise Wigan or laugh at Leeds for doing their best to throw away another promotion, a bit of both I guess. We're going to need at least two wins out of three and Millwall to implode. I can't see either happening.
Villa have done us a favour by narrowly beating Millwall, now we need to beat Birmingham............................................
Going in at half time winning and then falling apart second half, I think that's been the main story of our season. We're just not good enough.
it's down to taking a miracle now. ok, maybe not a miracle; but there's not much to cling to. reading are pretty much clear on goal differential, and Millwall are 3 points clear with a game in hand (and goal differential). so it looks like the Millers have to win their last two and Millwall take a maximum of 2 points from their last three. and frankly, it's the former of the two that seem less likely. in the end, I think your analysis pretty much sums it up - just not good enough. still, at least they've made a fist of it and had something to play for right up to the end. much better than what it's been like for Ipswich and Bolton, even if it's the same result in the end.
Millwall have drawn with Stoke so just the two wins and Millwall to only pick up 1pt from their remaining two games now. A pig just flew past my window so you never know.
You scored in the 50th but allowed goals in the 77th and 79th to get relegated. All three relegation spots are clinched.
It's been pretty much the same story all season, we take the lead and then end up losing. We've got to be high up in the 'points lost from winning positions' table.
