I still believe that given the mediocre squad available, the injuries and all the bad blood Peseiro did reasonably well. Sporting is only 2 points away from the leaders, and it's not like the League cup is anything that truly matters. The new president wanted to get rid of him and used today's defeat as an excuse. Anyways, he's gone now so it's history. Leonardo Jardim would be a great choice.
LOL as soon as you post that he gets fired. TBH while I agree with the decision, I'm pleasantly surprised Varandas actually pulled the trigger. But he's likely relatively cheap to let go (only has a contract this season). I can understand at the time no one wanted to come to us so thanks I guess for helping somewhat to fill a void. Now lets get a real coach in there.
Yea but you can't fault Varandas for doing what he did. He proved me wrong. He did the right thing. A step in the right direction.
Until November no new player can be signed, and even then it will be just few adjustments, which means that bringing a new coach onboard will likely not change much. The likes of Battaglia, Acuna, Ristovski, Jefferson, Petrovic, Coates, Salin, even the current Nani and Montero can only get you so far.
Your right we can't sign players now, but there just seemed to be no real preparation with Peseiro, yesterday we were almost dominated by a 2nd division side at home, and even in other games, it's like we have no defense at times, everytime there's a counter we're all pissing our pants 'cause it looks like they'll score at anytime.
Futre came out and said Peseiro rejected a bunch of players that were definitely good enough to make the squad, like Guidetti and Coentrao. On top of that he sent away Geraldes and Matheus. It's weird that yesterday he complained about playing with the substitutes substitutes, but rejected a bunch of players.
Sousa Cintra recently hinted that Peseiro was very indecisive in the latter stages of the transfer window, something Peseiro denied.
Must win game today at Feirense to stay alive in this cup. Would expect a strong line-up, hopefully Raphinha starts so he can get fully fit.
Starting XI is pretty strong - No Gudelj starting, otherwise it's a strong line-up: Salin; Ristovski, Coates, Mathieu, Acuña; Petrovic, Miguel Luís, Bruno Fernandes; Diaby, Raphinha, Bas Dost
The idea that the shove on Raphina wasn't a penalty but that is is a joke. If one is they both are. Soft soft soft
Jovane on for Raphinha, great goal and good performance from Raphinha, now he can rest up for upcoming fixtures.
Feirense player got a red for protests. This one is pretty much done. Time to just slow things down and conserve energy as we have a game on Thursday for the league and January is gonna be hectic.
