I know it's easy to forget Vaduz, but they're between Schaffhausen and Chiasso on 12 points. Also, Aarau has only 4 points. (Don't tell Arrows...)
It's shocking how no one team really appears to be standing out in the league. I figured Lausanne would be running away with it, but with 1-6 being separated by only 3 points, it really is anyone's league. I don't think Aarau are as bad as their record show, but if they can't pull this thing together, they might be going down to the third tier for the first time since 1959, which would be awful for them.
I agree that Aarau is not as bad as they played the first 6 matches of the season. The question is is the point gap too much to overcome. I am also surprised at Chiasso, they are doing much better than I thought they would do. I expected Wil to be better, and Wintertur should be better. In the past they will have played a great match, then thrown up a real stinker or two. One nice thing is that there will be interest much longer in the league. I think that LS and Servette will emerge in the top 2 spots, but it will not be as clear cut as I once thought.

I really can't understand why we are so bad? Can anyone shed some light on this? If we go down it would be devastating!!! For Me! I don't think the club really cares.
I can not for any idea understand why Aarau is doing so poor. Here are some of the symptoms. 1. Only 11 goals scored all season in 11 matches. 9th in BCL. 2. The club has conceded 23 goals in 11 matches. 1st in BCL. 3. 1W 0D 4L at home this season. 6 of their goals have been at home (T-7th in BCL), while 10 goals (9th in BCL) have been scored on them at home. Their goal differential at home is -4 (T8 in BCL) only one of three clubs with a negative goal differential at home. 4. 0W 1D 5L away this season (10th in BCL). They have scored 5 goals away fro home (T-8th in BCL) and have allowed 13 goals away from home (10th BCL). Their goal differential away from home is -8 (10th in BCL). There could be a couple easy issues that could be blamed here. Poor defensive, poor forwards, bad keeper, etc. All which might be true. Often times this is also a system of a week midfielder. When turnovers happen, is the midfield quickly trying to pressure, or are they not tracking back? It also seems like they lack the creative presence in the midfield. The major question is what will they do over the winter break. They have a good average attendance, so financially they should be doing ok. Will they go out to bring in a player or two or three. Will they try to get a loan player or two that will actually help out? Here is their total transfers from the summer: In: Patrick Rahmen (Manager/ex-Luzern) Marco Walker (assistant/Basel) Mickael Almeida (Sion U21/PL) - 10 matches Nicolas Bürgy (Thun) - 4 matches Yann Fillion (Nest-Sotra/NOR/2.D.) - 0 matches Goran Karanovic (ex-Angers/FRA) - 3 matches (but only recently signed) Giuseppe Leo (Karlsruhe/GER/3.D.) - 10 matches Martin Liechti (Basel U21/PL) - 5 matches Stefan Maierhofer (Mattersburg/AUT) - 4 matches Djordje Nikolic (Thun) - 8 matches Linus Obexer (NE Xamax) - 10 matches Gezim Pepsi (Basel U21/PL) - 7 matches Nicolas Schindelholz (Luzern) - 10 matches Marco Schneuwly (Sion) - 4 matches Michael Siegfried (United Zürich/PL) - Out on loan to Munsingen. Elsad Zverotic (Sion) - 11 matches From that lengthy list of 14 players!, 7 are regular starters. That number goes up to 8 with Karanovic. Schneuwly has been a major disappointment up top. Only 4 matches played, and no goals. Not sure if I can put a finger on it, but I hope this helps.
thank you for the analysis...much appreciated...one thing just came to light with this.... 7 or 8 of the starting 11 came in during the summer transfer window! That is almost an entire starting squad who are new to the club, system and each other ....maybe this is it they have not had time to gel! They may never gel but surely we have had the highest turnover of players... this could be the main reason we are so bad!
Add to that a new managerial staff and you have issues. Now, there were quite a few other clubs that had major personal changes. I am not sure if Aarau is more or less than others. I think that Kriens had the fewest changes. I will look more tomorrow and see if we can draw any tangible conclusions.

thank you for the analysis much appreciated looks like several clubs had big turnover! But hey we won! Knocking off then top of the table Wil! Things are looking up! I guess they can't look any further down....
It was a good match for Aarau, but truth must be told, the Wil goal that was taken back for off-side's was incorrect. The cross came in, and went off the head of an Aarau defender, and then was headed in by Silvio. It should have been 0-1, instead of 0-0. But those things break both ways during the course of a season. 26 Oct Aarau - Wil 2-0 27 Oct Schaffhausen - Winterthur 2-2 Kriens - Servette 2-3 Servette with 2 goals in stoppage time. Lausanne was really bad against Vaduz on Saturday. Vaduz controlled more of the match than they should have been allowed, and they made Lausanne pay for it. Happy that Vaduz got the win, though. They've taken 10 out of a possible 15 in their last 5 matches. Really positive stuff since Frick took over. They also look more inspired, and are acting like more of a team, as opposed to a collection of individuals. 6 points away from the top, and 8 points away from relegation. If they can keep up this run, who knows what can happen? I just want them to stay as far away from the bottom as possible. Was also lucky enough to be able to watch Chiasso/Aarau on Sunday morning. That was a very fun game. Aarau came from behind and won it late on a set piece. Chiasso really should've finished Aarau off when they had the chance, but Aarau kept plugging away, and that's what made the difference. When Chiasso was winning, Aarau was trailing by 7 points in the league, but the win now makes it one point, and if they can get some momentum, they could easily climb out of their early hole. It was a big win for them, and now Chiasso has to be really feeling the pressure after letting this game slip away and not even getting a point out of it. Servette are on a nice little run now. I think they finish the calendar year as winter champions. I'm curious to see what the winter brings for them. Not sure if they'll try to stand pat or try to strengthen. I think Lausanne might go out and try to get one more guy. If you had said Servette, Winti, and Wil would be top three separated by only 2 points, I'd have said you were nuts, yet here we are.
I agree that LS looked very poor. Chiasso really must be sweating, a lot. I think that Wil and Winterthur will not go out and get any significant pieces, unless they lose one or two major players to higher divisions. Servette might go and get one more to try and win automatic promotion, and avoid the promotion/relegation playoff.
As an aside, the Promotion League teams voted to ask for a promotion/relegation playoff starting in 2019-2020. It would be their #2 vs BCL #9. I assume the BCL/RSL clubs will oppose it, but it is in the open.
