Coach / RFO (although some of the RFO moves THIS past offseason were solid, past moves still show an issue).
The Rocky Mountain Cup looks like a doozy this year. Both teams stink, and looks like RSL leads MLS in red cards (4) and the Rapids are second (3). Rapids lead the league in fouls/game. Rubio's 2nd in total fouls, Feilhaber is tied for 3rd. Rapids are middle of the pack in yellow cards.
After 4 reds to either team a 5th to that team would end the match, a team must have a minimum of 7 players (incl. GK).
F*** not the kind of press conference I was hoping it would be...... Instead we get another HG signing - which I like BTW - but growth will be stunted by the current regime in charge. Sigh........ The signing looks to be Sebastian Anderson who's been involved in a few US U-17 camps. I believe he's a RB.
In a similar assessment, here's a simple Twitter thread from Orlando City SC's announcer that pinpoints a key to the Rapids collapse against Houston (which is also noted in the Rapids Republic write-up... Anthony Hudson's failing diamond (and/or associated player assignments), which leaves the back exposed. To me, this hit the nail on the head... and it's not rocket science. Any savvy U6 coach could figure this out. But our beloved coach doesn't get it. There are defensive miscues in every Houston goal in the first half, but the Rapids midfield is absent on all of them, leaving the defenders exposed. The extremely narrow diamond makes it so easy to just go right by the midfield. #COLvHOU— Evan Weston (@EvanLWeston) April 1, 2019
Although, I think we should cut Anthony Hudson some slack. He has been very clear that it would take 5 games for his master plan to turn into a smooth-running machine on the pitch. Oh wait. That was the beginning of *LAST* season! So he apparently meant 34 + 5 matches. And with the very impressive performance vs. Houston being the 5th match this year, I guess he continues to live up to his word. 'Twas near perfection Saturday. All good. Nothing to see here, folks! Fanbase: Death by a thousand cuts.
It's early in the season, but the above entry will be a strong nominee for most sarcastic comment of the year. Outstanding. And the article was dead on--scarily so. Thanks for sharing, Jason.
May I suggest something on the Hallmark Channel as an alternative -- equally predictable but you can expect a win at the end.
Might be worth watching just to see the dominating performance from Alberth Elis. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone in the summer.
