Düsseldorf look to be having a one and done season. As this is a Top vs bottom game I wouldn't mind a bit of rotation, like playing Dahoud and Weigl.
Dusseldorf games have been fun to watch. Their defense is terrible and the games are wide open. Way better to watch than Nurnberg or Hannover, there is just a better tempo. They are not trying to slog their way through. They have some hit or miss firepower in Lukebakio. They started a new guy, Raman, this past weekend and he looked dangerous. This weekend they had 36% possession... and 21 shots, 8 on target. Should be fun to watch. Need to be careful with the counters. In other words: This is not the game for Dahoud. And someone needs to tell Diallo to dial it down, also. No risky passes, shouldn't be needed to score vs. these guys.
Pulisic with a good run, good passing and then gets the offsides call on the cut back pass for a goal...

Passing the ball back unexpectedly with no one there to receive it... Larsen loves passing the ball back. Going to be a tough go of it to get 2 goals in the 2nd half. They are counterattacking us well. I could see us needing 3 goals to win this. if this keeps up.
Delaney looks a bit tired and Akanji/Diallo have struggled all game. Gotze and Pulisic have been poor. Larsen has been terrible and was mostly at fault for the goal. Hopefully we can manage to secure the result, but it doesn't look promising. We must strengthen the attack in January, because we haven't got the attacking depth to go deep in three tournaments. Sancho will probably have to come on and Alcacer too.

Very poor result, but maybe this has come at the right time to remind the board we need to strengthen. Reus and WItsel were clearly very tired, but did OK. The rest of the starters were poor with the exception of LP, who was very good. In January if we can buy a left winger, then we should slightly overpay for one. Winning the league and getting far in the CL demands it. Pay what it takes and get Brandt. Sancho really tried and did very well when he came on. Alcacer scored as usual. Don't let this excellent season fall apart, because we didn't strengthen in January.
Seems I was lucky to miss most of the match. At least the first goal was the same kind of goal Düsseldorf scored against Bayern. It shouldn't have been surprising how they play and what their strengths are. One loss isn't the end though. The next match is on Friday (why on Friday when there are matches in the middle of the week???) already and if we play well, the lead to Gladbach would be back to 9 points. If it ends badly, the lead to Bayern could get reduced to 3 points. If that happens, I'm certain they'll win the league. But they have quite the brutal schedule as well for their last two games.
Friday's game is a must-win and hopefully this game showed that this teams needs an influx of quality during the winter if they're serious about competing for the title.
WTF ! Comign back from work to see this result against the worse team? Was time to put Dahoud, Weigl and all those with fresher legs... Most likely only 6 points on Bayern may not be enough in the end. We ll have to remember those easy 3 point lost.
This was an unnecessary defeat. I dont undertand why Delaney and Witsel played when Dahoud and Weigl should have started. We needed these players fit and fresh against BMG which is certainly not a pushover. This loss is purely on Favre. Why would be field the best passer in the CL against Fortuna? Pulisic and Jacob were fine. Akanji was subbed out with abductor problems and Diallo has a muscle strain. The fact that we couldnt turn this into a tie at least hurts.
Oh and Götze sucks. He played somewhat decently in extra time but for 90 min he was the worst player on the pitch. And thats with Toprak and Schmelzer.
