The 4th round pairings come out later on May 18. Our part of the map is going to be interesting. It looks like the Dynamo might get matched up with a winner out of the Carolinas. That used to be normal back in the early days. There are also going to be 3 all-MLS pairings so we could get FCD right off the bat. The Tulsa/San Antonio winner will probably get paired with Dallas. That leaves Houston to get sent to the Southeast where there are three 3rd round pairings but only Atlanta and Orlando to match them with. The North Carolina/Charlotte winner would be likely. Or they could send Dallas over that way and put Houston against Tulsa/San Antonio. They could pair Kansas City with the Tulsa/San Antonio winner which would leave Houston v. Dallas. We will find out this afternoon.
The USSF has paired up Houston and Dallas with the Tulsa/San Antonio and North Carolina/Charlotte winners. There will be a coin flip to determine who plays who. And then coin flips to determine the hosts.
The Dynamo lost all the coin flips. Houston will have to travel to the winner of North Carolina/Charlotte.

Hmmm. I'm looking at the likely 4 team groups that will be created after the games of the 4th Round. If the Dynamo win we will probably be in a group with these winners: Dallas/Tulsa Roughnecks Sporting Kansas City/Minnesota United Colorado Rapids/OKC Energy It is also possible that the USSF could keep us in with the Southeastern-ish teams. Especially if Saint Louis upsets Chicago. Atlanta United/Charleston Battery Orlando City/Miami FC FC Cincinnati/Columbus Crew

https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...-round-draw-be-streamed-live-thursday-june-15 The draw for the rest of the tournament will be streamed on the USSF facebook page at 11 am ET. https://www.facebook.com/officialussoccer/?sw_fnr_id=3437270790 The Groups have already been determined: EAST REGION D.C. United New England Revolution New York Red Bulls Philadelphia Union CENTRAL REGION Colorado Rapids FC Dallas Houston Dynamo Sporting Kansas City SOUTH REGION Atlanta United Chicago Fire FC Cincinnati (USL) Miami FC (NASL) WEST REGION LA Galaxy Sacramento Republic FC (USL) San Jose Earthquakes Seattle Sounders
The Dynamo will host Kansas City on June 27/28. If Houston wins that they will host the winner of Dallas-Colorado on July 11/12.
The Bracket for the Round of 16 (June 27/28) and Quarterfinals (July 11/12): Teams higher will host. EAST New England DC United ------------------ NY Red Bulls Philadelphia SOUTH Miami FC Atlanta ------------- Cincinnati Chicago CENTRAL Houston Kansas City ---------------- Dallas Colorado WEST San Jose Seattle ------------ LA Galaxy Sacramento
Hmmm. The USSF is now saying that the Quarterfinals can be from July 7 to 16. I guess since the Gold Cup is going on and MLS is shut down during that period they want to give some flexibility. It could affect a potential Dynamo home game since BBVA Compass Stadium is hosting the Gold Cup on July 11. We could possibly see a weekend Open Cup game against Dallas during that period.
