LOL Sanchez had quite a game, came on and he made the assist after the busted play. Missed a wide-open net in the run of play. El penal es malo, garbage time anyhow. Houston looks like next round fodder to me.
If we're talking about the November game I would rather see Horvath too because Steffens will be needed be in the playoffs to get the "F*** you pre-court" chants going loud and strong in Columbus.
67,221 folks is very impressive, Loved this pre-game shot I give up, just can't get link to pic to work. "I think it’s the true heart, the artery of the city of Atlanta.”Behind the Stripes, 2 Chainz: https://t.co/Xekj2qsva2 pic.twitter.com/m1aw23CcOG— Atlanta United FC (@ATLUTD) October 25, 2017
I missed this the first time I read the articles about Precourt's lust to move the Crew to Austin. When he bought Columbus from the Hunt family, the purchase agreement apparently had a clause that he couldn't move the team for 10 years except to Austin. I'm guessing that the MLS had to approve the sale, which would mean that the league knew a move to Austin was either the plan from the start or at least a very real backup plan. If true, this whole thing gets more sleazy by the minute. Columbus and the Crew fans deserve far better.
I had not been paying attention to the MLS playoffs and was looking to see when the games were this weekend. Is the schedule always this weird? Nothing today, one game Sunday, two Monday, and one Tuesday? Then one second leg Thursday, none Friday or Saturday and three on Sunday? That seems so bizarre.
the knock out rounds plus the two leg main rounds, combined with stadium scheduling has made it a crapshoot the past few years.
Just finished watching the first leg of Sounders/Whitecaps playoff games. God I hate Seattle's gamesmanship.
I liked it when I was refunded my ticket cost for the amazingly poor play against LA in 2010. As an org they're pretty good, though that could just be from the warped perspective of 21 years of being a Rapids fan.
There's a really cool mlssoccer.com article on DC United's farewell to RFK. RFK was badly outdated and run down, but a lot of MLS (and American soccer) history was written there and some fantastic players played there. It's nice seeing that franchise land a new stadium in D.C., and not be kidnapped by another city.
From your fingers to Keller's ears. What is it with ex goalkeepers making terrible announcers? Don't you hate that?
Pulisic wrote a nice article about his perspectives: https://www.theplayerstribune.com/christian-pulisic-usmnt-world-cup/
So (spoiler alert) Sweden went to Italy on the second leg of their WCQ playoff and drew 0 - 0 with 27% of the possession. Cue Hope Solo to talk about Sweden's 'bravery'? More realistically the irony is sort of rich to see Italy out catenaccio-ed by a Scandinavian squad. Pablo in his one good year did have a sound concept in mind (for some situations) but it doesn't have 'legs' over time and is boring to watch as well.
I was rooting for Sweden (and Ireland) as my heritage backup teams after the U.S. fell on its face so I'm happy.
Ireland v. Denmark 2nd leg = appointment tv on FS2: http://www.livesoccertv.com/match/2618234/ireland-republic-vs-denmark/ US also plays in the afternoon but I have to record multiple matches due to work so no conflict except which to watch first. Probably an actual WCQ supersedes a 'friendly'. http://www.livesoccertv.com/match/2616931/germany-vs-france/ See what I did there? http://www.livesoccertv.com/match/2619292/portugal-vs-usa/
