A note about the Thorns-Sky Blue game. As of last week, the team was thinking that from their previously injured group, at least Heath and Brynjarsdottir would be ready to play. I guess we might see tomorrow when the injury report comes out. I have no idea where they are in their fitness.
It's the same every year with me. I always get excited about the novelty of the season starting up again, only to forget to do these predictions after week 2 or 3. No need to carry on keeping track of my score, if you still are.
Oh, please, come back predicting! I know it doesn't seem to make sense after missing so many weeks, but, after all, other players (STT himself) missed some. The more we are, the more funny it is! And, also, even if you can't really hope to win the whole thing, you could still have an awesome week where you predict quite everything correctly, thus making you proud of yourself.
OK Blissett, you've inspired me, as a new entry, I'm going for even more funny: NC 2 - 0 KC WAS 1 -0 HOU NJ 0 - 1 POR ORL 1 - 0 BOS CHI 2 - 0 SEA
NC 1-0 KC WAS 0-1 HOU NJ 1-1 POR ORL 1-1 BOS CHI 1-0 SEA I'm thinking it'll be a low-scoring week, if you couldn't tell. X-D
North Carolina 1, Kansas City 0 Washington 1, Houston 1 SkyBlue 1, Portland 0 Orlando 2, Boston 1 Chicago 1, Seattle 0
Okay, massive update time! Week 7 and week 8 scores all at once... I'm sure I probably made a mistake or two, so please check your scores! 59Amerinorsk : 30pts + 0+0+2+1+0+2 + 1+0+2+1+2 = 41pts / 41g babranski : 7pts + x+x+x+x+x+x + x+x+x+x+x = 7pts / 10g Blaze20 : 36pts + 2+3+0+3+1+2 + 0+0+2+2+2 = 53pts / 41g blissett : 38pts + 2+0+0+1+0+2 + 3+0+0+2+1 = 49pts / 37g BlueCrimson : 30pts + 0+2+2+3+2+0 + 2+0+0+2+3 = 46pts / 41g CoachJon : 27pts + 2+2+1+0+2+2 + 1+3+1+2+2 = 45pts / 41g cpthomas : 0 / 0 + x+x+x+x+x+x + 3+2+2+2+2 = 11pts / 5g holden : 34pts + x+2+0+3+0+1 + 2+3+0+0+1 = 46pts / 40g lil_one : 34pts + 2+1+2+3+2+1 + 2+0+3+0+3 = 53pts / 41g Lucy : 34pts + 1+2+0+3+0+0 + 2+0+0+2+2 = 46pts / 41g lunatica : 36pts + 2+3+0+3+2+2 + 2+2+2+0+2 = 56pts / 41g Smallchief : 28pts + 2+2+1+3+0+2 + 2+0+0+2+0 = 44pts / 37g STT : 30pts + 1+x+x+x+x+x + 2+0+0+0+3 = 36pts / 36g weelilbit : 3pts + x+x+x+x+x+x + x+x+x+x+ = 3pts / 2g For Week 7, our big winners were lunatica & smallchief (12pts) and lil_one & Blaze (11pts); for Week 8, utter newbie cpthomas beat us all (only CoachJon came close) and predicted every single shutout to shoot to the top of the overall PPG race at 2.2PPG (11pts/5g). I for one can't seem to escape 1PPG. That's just not fair. X-D Congrats! In the overall standings, we saw some big movement - not just because it was two weeks instead of one, but also with some impressive performances and misses inside those two weeks! We have a new outright leader with lunatica, and new entrant into the top three with lil_one, and a new person in the chasing group with Blue, Smallchief, and CoachJon - and congrats to Smallchief for busting well past 1PPG, too!
I indeed have to question my score on week 7. My score for that week reads: My predictions were: I'll check with the results, one by one: NC 2 NJ 0 >>> I predicted NC 3 NJ 0, so I should get 2 points from it HOU 0 SEA 2 >>> HOU 1 SEA 3, I get 2 (for gd) CHI 3 NC 2 >>> CHI 0 NC 1, I get 0 NJ 2 ORL 1 >>> NJ 2 ORL 2, I get 1 points for correctly predicting NJ goals KC 3 WAS 2 >>> KC 1 WAS 1, I get 0 POR 2 BOS 0 >>> POR 2 BOS 1, I get 2 So I should have 2+2+0+1+0+2 = 7 for that week, instead of 2+0+0+1+0+2 = 5. Edit: still not enough to re-enter top 3, though!
Normally Tuesday means opening predictions for the next week - but there are no games this coming weekend! Enjoy your week off everyone - we'll just have to wait a bit longer to see if cpthomas can pull off another 2+PPG week. ;-D In the meantime, I know most people will be following various NT action, but both UWS and WPSL are still in action this week! Why don't you browse around there? (Unless you're a WNY fan - then maybe don't go check on UWS right now. It's not pretty.)
What the heck, here are my predictions for the next games: Kansas City v Seattle: 1-1 Chicago v Washington: 2-0 North Carolina v Boston: 3-0 Houston v Orlando: 2-2 Portland v NJNY: 2-1
I was going to wait for the injury report, but I'll be traveling for the rest of the week and don't want to forget! CHI 2-0 WAS NC 2-0 BOS KC 1-1 SEA HOU 1-2 ORL POR 2-2 NJ
Heath is still out for the Thorns. They've re-assessed her situation and, at this point, she is out indefinitely.
But, on another note, Aussie striker Ashleigh Sykes has been in Portland and is ready to play on Saturday.
