My 2 cents, a 5'5" attacking Midfielder with 1 assist last year. Sounds just like a guy that will do little to improve our attack so I predict we will give him a massive DP contract and start talking about 2019.
Montes has an excellent shot from distance. Given the sorts of chances the Rapids create, maybe that's the fit. Miguel Layun would be even better, but he'd be quite expensive. Moneyball, you see.
I am sure he would be an upgrade to our existing roster. I suppose he would replace Powers, which seems like an upgrade for sure. My fear is that it would be more like a Sanchez or Ramirez type thing. We bring in a Latin American player full of hope and find that a single player wasn't really enough to solve the issues. Or we find that he is moved to a position which doesn't work as well for him. Personally, I would love to see someone like him AND a true striking option (Badji really should be a sub to come in when the D is gassed). Use Nana and Azira to help solidify the D so Doyle doesn't have to play D-mid from a forward position. (I deleted my snarky pre-season comment....) rod.
Hmm, I actually saw Montes in person score one of his international goals in apparently. Granted...I was rooting for Martinique at the time. He'd be a good signing though. He fits the bill for the type of player and skill set the Rapids need. We've needed a Winger/CAM for while...and this guy is most certainly better than the nothing we have in those positions right now. Of course...we all wonder if Pablo will actually know how to use him.

Their getting staffed up for the 2018. A solid preseason acquisition that will be able to do damage control and keep Pablo as far away from journalists and microphones as possible.
2 thoughts: Why is it stats vs spirit? Why not go for both? I hope Pablo realizes that the only difference between 1-0 and 1-3 (or worse) on Saturday was the Sporks poor finishing. Spirit, while relevant, doesn't make up for balls in the net over the medium and long term.

I missed Saturday's game. Gordon with back-to-back late game winners? Clearly his signing has paid dividends even though many of us groaned when he heard about his signing. Too bad the team threw away so many points early in the season. I don't think they have the talent to make up that type of deficit for a playoff run. But I do give Pablo some credit for not losing the team, which may have been closer than not. And while all teams have injuries; that was a particularly tough stretch. It's just nice that I'm looking forward to watching Wednesday's match as opposed to dreading it.
I hope I'm wrong, but I just can't see the Rapids getting points on the road. The way they are winning just doesn't seem sustainable. However, I did not see this mini-run either. But that's soccer. That win against KC which started it all was pure theft.
My calendar shows it is June 20, a little surprised no new rumors about summer transfer window signings. I thought by now we might even see someone practicing with the Rapids so they were ready to go once pre-season ends.
You are aware this is the Rapids you're talking about, right? I mean don't get ahead of yourself, there's 4 whole weeks to bring somebody in once the window opens. You wouldn't want to risk them playing too much in 2017 and getting injured, screwing up the 2018 plan.

Hey, I was never banned. Just to be clear. If this guy is another David Lindholm though, I could be in good shape. He and I always got along well. BTW, he's now the head coach of the NPSL Kingston Stockade in the Hudson Valley. I just bought a scarf from their online store last week to show him some support.
