    That's far from the truth. Many MLS clubs can compete with the European elite for money, it's the competition that we can't compete with. The Sounders, Galaxy, Toronto, NYCFC, Red Bulls, Orlando, Chicago, Montreal have all shown we can splash the cash.

    Wish the Sounders would go big on a huge signing. There's nothing wrong with signing a world class player who is a bit older but can still bring it. David Villa case in point. Heck, Martins was to a less extent a world known player

    Seriously? (I should have come back to this thread sooner.) When has any MLS squad paid $17 million for a right back!?

    I never said that MLS clubs have a history of splashing the same cash, I said that they CAN do it. Some MLS clubs have more than enough money to put $17mil on a rightback (if they decide to use a DP slot) but they have not.
