It's early in the week still, but FWIW Boswell was scrimmaging with the starters today and Franklin with the second team. #DCU— Thomas Floyd (@ThomasFloyd) March 27, 2017
Odd question but, I'm doing my first bus trip to Red Bulls....are these big enough buses to have the small bathroom in the back? And I assume people drink on the bus? I can't do one without the other for 4 hours
yep - you can pee on the bus ..... BUT THAT'S ALL YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO IN THAT ROOM !!!!!!! - signed back-of-the-bus rider Only one time that I know of has the bathroom failed to open when someone was inside, was a long last 20-30 or so minutes for most of us, never saw the trapped guy on a roadtrip again.
On the BB buses, Gate Keepers control the access to the bathroom. The fee is you drinking a shot of Fireball or whatever. There's also at least one Pit Stop.
Clever, odor acclimation to prepare you for Joisey. Like mountain climber stopping at different altitudes
I was going to drop this in the alumni thread, but I decided to include it here since Ben Olsen is involved. Apparently Charlie Horton is suing for an allegedly career ending concussion from a fight with Espindola in practice. http://thecomeback.com/soccer/former-d-c-united-player-sues-teammate.html Also, can we please stop signing players with mental issues with the premise that they have a chip on their shoulder? I'm thinking of Espindola, EJ, Ruiz etc ... Can we just sign players who want to play for the sake of playing, because they enjoy the sport and from a sense of professionalism? I hope this is the last time Ben takes a gamble on these types of problem players.
If Olsen really told Horton that Espindola would hurt somebody someday then Horton will take home some money and his lawyer will get 1/3rd. I bet they settle for something around what it costs to litigate the case.
My father-in-law is visiting from Brazil and I was hoping to take him to a DCU game. Unfortunately, it appears DCU will be on a road trip from late June through mid July. He's coming in the same day as the Atlanta game at home, so I don't think it would be feasible. I'm guessing my only hope is if DCU advances in the Open Cup. Would they still play those games at the Soccerplex if that's the case? It would be a 5 min drive for me, but based off the last game I attended there, you definitely lose the atmosphere you'd have at RFK.
What you lose in atmosphere you gain by being so much closer to the action. For that reason I love Cup matches at Soccerplex.
Fair point. I just have to hope DCU can get past their first game in the Cup and hope we host the following game.....
I love the venue and the drive to get there - but damn do we mostly suck when we play there, takes most of the fun away when I have to have the car running in the fire lane so I can watch the inevitable PKs from the parking lot to still try to catch the last ferry back to Va
It's one of our few chances to watch the reserves in competition with a lower division team that is playing probably the biggest game of their season..
So it sounds like Korb might actually be able to play again. That would be welcome news. I wonder if he would still be the fastest guy on the team?
Boswell has looked great since his resurrection. Wonder just how much Olsen's benching him for a right back pissed him off and if that's the result of his play now, or if he just never should've been benched in the first place.
