To be fair, every team in the league has at least one midweek home game except Edmonton. Jacksonville has two. And, also to be fair, most NASL teams don't draw well.
Well, they can't all go to every game. I mean, there's no incentive. The Deltas can't be promoted, so who cares if they win?
Absolutely, Pro/Rel will solve all their woes. They need to get in on that lawsuit against USSF stat!
Donald Trump is clearly sabotaging the Deltas. All those Delta supporters are still all so depressed about the election that most refuse to leave their residences. At least that is what I have been told here.
Jacksonville attendances have certainly tanked since the new ownership group was announced. Gotta wonder what exactly is going on there.
It would be very, very difficult for a new ownership group to come in on July 18 and have an impact this quickly. They've got to be pointing toward 2019. It takes much longer to turn the ship, and a lot of that work has to be done in the offseason. The neglect of league ownership leaves a residual effect that takes a while to get past.
Jacksonville has been doing quite a bit of marketing since Palmer took over. They've gotten games on TV both home and away, advertised quite a bit and picked up radio coverage. They're even being seen in Orlando and Tampa on TV, which may not be all that useful but is pretty cool. In Jacksonville at least it's working...their TV numbers are higher than other sports events not involving the Jaguars. What they've also done is to begin to report turnstile attendance. It may not stay that way the rest of the season but Mr. Palmer seems committed to at least some sort of different method of reporting attendance. He posted something on Reddit about it yesterday and the club held a press conference.
More likely, given the Deltas other research, that Deltas attendees probably do have friends and ask them to come to games. Only to find out their friends are doing something else more interesting, and so they go with the friends to that event instead of trekking to freeze their ass off at at crappy Kezar Stadium watching a minor league soccer team no one in the Bay Area has heard of or cares about.
They actually changed how they are reporting attendance numbers. Instead of the standard tickets distributed, they are going with turnstile numbers.
