I recorded the Ken Burns Vietnam Series but have only watch four of them so far. Kansas City is undefeated and playing Pittsburgh. The Union is playing a meaningless game against Chicago. What to watch? What to watch?
Medunjanin to Bedoya who scores on a nice chip over Lampson - 2-1 Union with a rare display of attacking soccer on the road.
I got the same error. In recent games when they really hype Elliott as a Rookie of the Year candidate, he gets burned for goals (i.e. today, at Atlanta).
I know I havent been on in awhile...... but dang..... when the Union suck BigSoccer is a deadzone... I remember days with 125-150 Matchday posts and discussions before the actual game.... is there a new platform?
Let's be honest here, how often can one bitch about the Union? I'm tired of burning my energy. I occasionally stop by for discussions about the team, but banging my keyboard and saying, "OUR TEAM SUCKS!" can only keep me going for so long. I enjoy talking Soccer but GOD I've been drained by the end of most of the seasons. Even last year's "playoff berth" didn't excite me because I (and everyone else) knew there was ZERO chance they were beating Toronto. Apathy has set in pretty hard but having said that... At least the Eagles are a fun team to watch.
In searching for a way to best describe the mission statement of the Union on the road, the best I can come up with is: Try to hang around long enough to get beat. Mission accomplished. That Brandon Vincent........quite the fullback. Chicago made Klopas look like a fool in the first half, and a prophet in the second. Nemanja Nic-trick = Das boot. Congrats. Three stars- for the only half they played: ***- Fabi **-Haris * (MotM)-Ale
Pretty close, but looks like we get to book another 75'+ conceded goal to the season. We have to be close to the MLS record right?
Only watched the first half. Looks like I made a good decision. May just delete the recording now. Any reason to watch... Was going to say, "the second half?" but guess you could just as easily say... ...the rest of the season? ...the Union?
We learned and gained absolutely nothing of value this game.... what was the point? What was the take away here? There was nothing to lose here, the season is over, can’t even play pretend that it isn’t anymore.. we had a free roll to try something new with no consequences at all, anything new, big, small, anything that could maybe, just maybe help us going forward... instead they opted to do the same EXACT thing they already saw and know from the previous 32 games this year. We gain absolutely nothing of value from this game, and we didn’t even attempt to gain anything... was the hope that a win would have spurred some STH renewals so they better play it safe? I’m at a loss. Total stagnation, total lack of effort, total lack of caring.
But is this a player issue or a coaching issue? To me, seems like the coaching is not fixing whatever it was that caused Rosenberry to take a step back. Not like he never had it and coaching couldn't maximize what was there. He was playing well and now he is not. Why is he still not where he was before? Why does this same type of problem keep happening under Curtin?
Not sure this is just a Curtin issue. I feel like we have seen a lot of guys come through who have an amazing debut season for the Union and then disappear. Not sure if the league "figures them out," the Union are unable to properly develop past year 1, or if the players just aren't good enough. Something about years 2+ in Union blue seem to go sour for a lot of players in our organization. That being said, there are a few who stayed the course, or improved - LeToux & Sapong come to mind right away.
