1-1 draw as the Union escape with a point. On another note, I am fine with most MLS team names, but Real Salt Lake still rubs me the wrong way. Salt Lake Royals would be reasonable...
Ahh Rio Tinto. I'll never forget the 2013 "Conor Casey" game where he pretty much won it single handed. Then in stoppage time Le Toux flubbed a 1 on 1 with the keeper, and Gaddis gave up a stupid penalty to gift them the tie. So Union. 5 straight wins would strain credibility. Tie.
The Union have NEVER beaten RSL................. Also strange things happen at The RiOT when the Union play there......
I predict a Aristigueta goal from midfield deflected by Kyle Beckermans hair. Loss. The Platoon and Curtin will never shut up if they won.
The Only Mo the Union have is what they carry with them, but I'm not convinced that is sustainable. The new DP at RSL is a player to watch, as is the kid they brought in at the start. Biggest things for me: 1). Rimando's back-and in form. 2). While the Claret & Cobalt don't always play with an attitude at home, they always play with an altitude.......combined with last week's 3 way.........the suspicion is that a beat down awaits. Mov told me : " Yura fool if you don't pick us in this one"-and while the truth of that is yet to be determined, he's a scary guy so I'm gonna go with his forecast-weather it turns out to be true or not........
Very true. Although Gaddis is the only guy playing who will have ever played for the Union at RSL. Of course he was responsible for some of said craziness in 2013.
Watching the Steel game while I work. No Epps, Najem or Wijnaldum in their 18. Assume all three are going to RSL with the big club? Also no Charlie Davies. Edu is not the only player on the U in limbo.
Is Davies officially the dumbest non-GK move they've ever made? Like, they screwed up the first time trading a first round pick for him. Then, they screwed up again wasting more money on him so the first screwup didn't look so dumb. They've had their fiascos in the past but at least all the other terrible players got playing time.
Yeah I'm hoping they didn't bring in Davies simply because he's best buds with Bedoya but that's what it seems like. If we keep winning though the trade won't look as bad. Trading the #1 2018 draft pick in the MLS Draft would be horrible but trading a mid-late 1st round pick would be meh. I personally can't wait to cut all the dead weight contracts we have on the books next year.
Why do I always feel like this is said year after year after year? JDG. Valdes. Adu (then Kleberson).
