Can't say I pay too close attention to these things, but how often does PRO rotate guys who are typically in the middle to fourth official duties?
Constantly. PRO has two pools of refs, Referees & Assistant Referees. They rotate the guys in the Referee pool between being in the middle and being the 4th since being in the middle is so physically demanding (at this level, the Referee typically runs further over the course of 90 minutes than any of the players). For example, this week Geiger will be the 4th for our match against Houston and then will be in the middle on Sunday for the OCSC-NYCFC match. Also, the 4th Official should have experience in the middle in case of an injury to the Referee. http://www.proreferees.com/2017-mls-regular-season-assignments---week-12.php
he's been the fourth official in several games I've watched and my guess is it's a fitness thing...if he reffed a game last weekend or is reffing a game next weekend PRO probably tell Marky Mark to try taking a break from the spotlight for a game to hold the pretty light up board and accept those substitution slips. It's crazy an organization like PRO which is notoriously devoid of talent (let alone depth) is able to have squad rotation when Jimbo often clings to the same players and formations long after their effectiveness is gone (although you could say the Union are also notoriously devoid of talent)
Also the 4th is the guy who has to put up with all the shit from the coaches so it helps for them to be experienced.
Jorge "Let's Make the Game About Me and Not About the Players" Gonzalez is in the ref for tonight's game. With Gonzalez in the middle and Geiger on the sidelines there are two experienced refs who have the reputations of being overly vocal and demonstrative in their styles. Jose Carlos "Arrested and Charged with Two Felonies for WC Fraud" Rivero is the center ref on Saturday
It's May and this is like perfect Houston summer weather. I suppose the visitors will feel quite acclimated.

I just laughed out loud when TSN had Andre Blake introduce himself two separate times in the starting XI introductions. Give us two Andre Blakes and I can see this clean sheet streak last a really long time.
The biggest difference I'm seeing with the Union now is that they finally seemed to have developed an idea of what they want to do with the ball when they have it; they're thinking more quickly and thus dictating more of the play. I suppose it just took a bit longer to gel together than we had hoped, but it's nice to finally see. The extra bit of confidence doesn't hurt, as well, and confidence almost always starts in the back and works its way forward.
yeah, the last I disagreed in a game thread with you..........won't jinx it. Something about Dynamo games seems to equate to oppressive heat and a waltz tempo. Home team rightly controlled the play. I think if Gaddis had scored I would have lost my shit....... What I don't like: Philly blindly sending balls down the pipe from their own half. They are doubling up on Sap there and turning you over in bad spots. Cubo generally takes that ball in and scores. Credit the heat I guess. Be interested to see how long Ale stays out there. In pro wrestling jargon.......he's taken some bumps. As long as #14 is held in check they have a chance. Don't know if Houston will risk the remaining ham on Alberth's strings tonight.
