Flipped over to this for a few minutes while Revs at halftime. Official attendance not in yet, but announcer estimating close to 30K. http://www.ussoccer.com/lamar-hunt-...ourth-round-fc-cincinnati-vs-columbus-crew-sc And Cincy just scored, 1-0 in the 64'.
30,560 was what Cincy's twitter posted. Also, the first hat trick in Orlando's stadium happened by a Miami player, as they're cruising on the road 3-0. Edit to add: 3-1 final. Philly wins 3-1 as well over Harrisburg. Bilello said if we win the right to host the next game, it will be at Harvard.
Interesting to see how different teams approach this round. Columbus played something near to its best eleven (and still lost), as did Chicago. Meanwhile, in Seattle vs. Portland, of the 22 starters, I only recognized six names.
Largest ever USOC attendance for a match other than the Final. Really impressive from Cincy and their fans - surely Garber and the expansion committee are watching.
MLS went 10-3 versus the lower divisions this round, with Columbus, Orlando and RSL on the losing ends. Three matches were MLS vs MLS. RSL played their B team and got hammered by Sacramento (another expansion hopeful) 4-1. Draw for next round happens at 11am today, streamed on Facebook.
Hey Brian... Can we work on getting the other "at home" at Fenway? To test the Market and see if the people of Boston would watch a Revolution Soccer event. Boston Red Sox are away for the prior week and then on All Star Break the week of the game.

The timing is fairly favorable to the Revs, sandwiched between a Friday match (@toronto) and Sunday match (@Philly)
Revolution to Host D.C. United in 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 June 15, 2017, 12:04PM EDT revolutionsoccer.net
I hope the Revs approach this seriously. They have the hosting rights for this DC game, and then hosting rights for the next round against NYRB/Philly winner, and DC/NYRB/Philly are all games that we can get results. The path to the semifinals is open for the Revs. As much as I want to see this team win the MLS Cup at some point in my life, I'll gladly take another chance at an Open Cup.
I have to think a US Cup Trophy may save Heaps' job so I am betting he puts a stronger team out there than last game. On the other hand DC sits 1 point ahead of newbie Minnesota for worst team in the league. They are usually pretty tough in the Cup and I have to also think Olsen's days may be numbered. I suspect we will see two teams close to full strength
Draw 30K, get some love from the worldwide leader... Officially announced by @opencup: @ESPNFC will televise the @fccincinnati vs. @ChicagoFire @usopencup game. June 28 on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. ET.— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) June 23, 2017
...and that's all the Air Cover that ownership and FO will need to Stand Pat for a few more seasons - they would have a championship to point at in the rare likelihood that criticism pokes its head up from the weeds.
Don't worry, there is still time to blow it. But that's what everyone was saying last year. "Winning the US Open Cup could save Heaps' job" and then we lost and he was still our coach. Then it was "Making the playoffs could save Heaps' job" and when that didn't happen, our GM kept him around because we are "on the cusp" of greatness. So I figure we have about a 66% chance of beating DC United, and after that, 50-50 vs whoever wins between Red Bulls and Filthydelphia. If we pull that off, we're int he final four and Anything Can Happen (TM). Of course, the other 3 teams will, by definition, be teams that are "taking it seriously," so we'll have our work cut out for us there. On the other hand, I give us about a 50-50 chance at making the playoffs and maybe a 25% chance of winning the first knockout game and maybe 10% chance of winning the first series.
No Agudelo, no Rowe, no Koffie (called up by Ghana). Perhaps no Delemea. Perhaps no Kobayashi. Knighton Farrell, J. Smith, Angoua, D. Smith Herivaux,Caldwell Bunbury, Fagundez, Nguyen Kamara
