Locally Boston City is playing in the second round this Wednesday in Revere. They won their first ever USOC matchup at Western Mass last week.

Boston City and the rest of the NPSL teams did not fare well in the 2nd round, going a combined 0-8.

USL fared the best, with 15 of their 18 entrants advancing to round 3. USL teams comprise 58% of round 3.

NASL went 4-2, PDL went 4-8, and USASA went 3-5.

No additional teams added in Round 3. MLS will join in Round 4 (June 14th).

Mad props to GPS Omens for representing the Bay State League!

I used to play for a team called Charles River SC in that league back in the mesozoic era. Well, maybe it was really the Renaissance, since Michelangelo was our GK. No, he really was. The guy's name was Mike Angelo.

So it is possible the Caldwell brothers could be playing against each other.

    Round 3 results by league:
    NASL: 3-1
    USL: 9-6
    PDL: 0-4
    USASA: 1-2

Christos FC (USASA) beat Chicago FC United (PDL) to claim the prize ($15K) as the last amateur team standing.

Eric Wynalda and his LA Wolves lost to Orange County Blues (USL) to miss out on the prize.

Tonight's Ohio Derby (aka Hell is Real Derby) between Columbus Crew and FC Cincinnati has sold over 20K tickets. The Crew will have their hands full as FCC tries to prove they belong on the MLS expansion short list.

Former Rev Tyler Polak plays for Cincy.
