El Salvador draws Mexico, Jamaica and Curacao in group C in the 2017 Gold Cup.

it doesn't look that bad TBH we should be able to compete against Jamaica and should be able to easily defeat Curacao.

Ladies and gents in a surprising move we end up in Group C with Mexico.

I was so sure Group A was the destination but they went with an actual draw this time bet they regret that.

I don't know we haven't been able to beat Jamaica in so long it makes it even worse when Nicaragua has defeated them and at times we can't put in a goal against them.

Jamaica's offense is pretty garbage IMO we should be able to get a result against them, they dropped off dramatically after their last Gold Cup performance.

The same was said of Honduras during its low points and we still play like garbage.

I see us going into this gold cup a little more confident because this time we actually have a defense

Hmm so the list of abroad players going to the GC is out.

Biggest omission being Punyed that is quite a horrid list of players abroad in the grand scheme of things outside of Pineda. I guess one could argue another snub is Jaime but he's been bleh for NT for the longest. I will ask how is Efrain making these cuts while Dustin is being left out in the cold.

How the hell did Carillo and Burgos make the list Jesus almighty, I would still take Jaime Alas over Burgos even though they don't play the same position. Although Bonilla hasn't been in form, I still think he can offer something. The whole Punyed snubbing is weird, he is probably one of the few players abroad getting minutes sigh. Really shows how bad the list aborad is. So far only Kevin Santamaria has been the only new player signing abroad (although to eb fair he just came from suspension and was always going to find a club in guatemala since he has been so consistent there).

Bringing Derby is a waste of space. If he starts over Benji or Aroyo, who I imagine being the second keeper, I will stop watching right away.
Burgos coming is also really weird.
Oh well. I guess this is what it is.

I feel like there's too many players that shouldn't have been called up.
    A. Flores, Carillo, Menjivar, and E. Burgos shouldn't have been called up they haven't been doing much with their clubs.

    Where's D. Corea, J. Barahona, and maybe J. Alas?

Zavaleta couldn't join the gold cup team and Alvarez spoke up too late and he would only make a good sub he's not getting enough minutes but he's been scoring important goals, dangerous passes, and assists.

I would have like to see Larin on left wing and Barahona on left back defender. If Barahona gets injured Larin could always fall back into his position.

If we can win at least one game in the Gold Cup and/or score more than one goal, then we'll have performed better than in the previous GC.

Gosh, the 2015 GC was frustrating to watch. We had so many opportunities to score then but just couldn't finish, and we ultimately settled for draws.

Fito has been consistently scoring ever since his return to Selecta, so hopefully he can be our hero in this tournament.

Curacao just beat Jamaica 2-1, and they are the weakest team in our group. We just need to make sure that we don't get stomped by Mex and we can go to the 2nd round.

I know we are in for a tough tournament but also look at the bright side of things, we are not going to be facing mexicos best and also fito has been consistent for us so lets hope we get a repeat of him doing good in the gold cup again.

So the Gold Cup begins within a week, any predictions?

    1. Ima be pretty optimistic and say we finish 2nd and advance to the quarter finals

    2. Zelaya to score at least 3 goals in the tournament and move up to become El Slv's 2nd top scorer (right above Magico)

    4. Denis Pineda to be our stand out player of the tournament
