It's because she wasn't attached UNC, Penn St, UVA, Stanford or UCLA! Seems like those coaches log jam the coaching spots for youth national teams, or are all connected with each other, and nobody, other then their school's commits, gets a look. (Rolls eyes).......

I had Ekic as my ACC freshmen of the year before the season started. She's good. If L'ville is going to make any kind of run to a tourney berth, it'll be because of her.

    I will certainly impressed!
She almost came to blows with Natalia Kuikka. As an FSU fan, I was glad to see Natalia had the fight to be willing to come to blows. Some of our girls would've just taken the crap she was dishing out and walked away!
I'll guarantee you that Kristin Grubka, Jamia Fields, Kassy Kallman and Dagny B would Not have backed down. Dagny would likely have delivered a message later on!

Team played with a little more toughness than previously.
I actually saw Kaycie Tillman mix it up and play with a little more aggressiveness.
I think Mark is delivering a message to Megan Connolly.
She has all the skills, but doesn't show toughness and fight.
If she could turn that on somehow, she would be amazing.
Deyna is beginning to show defensive hustle and fight that I didn't see
    last year.
Dallas D seems to find a way to be in the right place at the right time.

Let's see how they do going forward!

Connolly is playing less and less it seems. I wonder where the younger Dorosy and Pezzino have been, they where getting a lot of minutes.

FSU defeats NcSt 1-0. Goal by Tillman. Edwards was injured and Connolly did not start.

In the first half Tillman looked good. Aggressive.
It's my belief that Mark is trying to get Megan to buy in to
    aggressive D and O.
That is why her playing time is suffering.
Dallas Dorosy is good at collecting rebounds and putting them in the net.
Tonight at least, she was not good at passing or creating her own shot.
She lost the ball a lot.
We showed glimpses in the first half of being very dangerous. Deyna dropped
off 2 or 3 passes that could hand should have been goals.
    Oh well, there's hope.
I could tell why Macayla was starting over Taylor at holding MF.
    Hope ME is back soon.

This team is tantalizingly close to being very good.
Not there yet, but there is hope.
Like USC last year, maybe we can catch lightning in a bottle
at the end of the year!

Kollanen is also out. Another one is hurt too, though she hasnt played much in her career. Still wondering where Pezzino and Dorosy the younger have been? Got Jukes, you seem to be plugged in, any ideas?

USC was a much better regular season team than FSU is, at this point of the season.
Or at least by Oct. 8, 2016, USC last season had ....

They had a 10 game winning streak, by scorelines of:

    3-0
    3-0
    2-0
    2-0
    3-0
    2-0
    4-0
    3-1
    3-1
    3-0

-They won every single one of those games by multiple goals (2 or more).
-They had 8 shutouts in these 10 games (all victories, once again by at least 2 goals in all 10 matches).
-They scored at least 3 goals in 7 of those 10 matches, and 2 goals in the other 3 matches.
-Their combined scoreline in these 10 games: 28-2 (margin of victory +26)
-During these 10 games, they scored 14 goals per each time their opponent scored 1 goal (14-1 ratio)

These 10 opponents (in order, and including their opponent's record on Oct. 8, 2016):

    Pepperdine (8-3-3)
    Georgia (3-9-1)
    Auburn (9-4)
    Loyola Marymount (7-3-3)
    North Carolina (7-2-3)
    Kansas (8-4-2)
    Arizona (6-5-1)
    Oregon (6-6-1)
    Oregon State (5-6-2)
    Stanford (10-1-1)

And of course, their 3-0 victory over Stanford is thee most impressive performance of the regular season in all of college soccer of 2016, by any team in the nation, for a single match.

FSU (2017) is no where close to where USC (2016) was at this point of the season.
People act like it was a surprise to see USC go on and win the National Championship.
By early October (2016), USC was playing the most dominant soccer in the nation.
Including their blowout win over Stanford. They flat out embarrassed Stanford.
USC had caught lightening in a bottle since early September (2016).
It didn't just occur in the NCAA tournament.

With that being said, FSU has more future pro players on their team, including their internationals.

FSU plays Boston College tomorrow. BC has given FSU fits the last few years.

    FSU 3-0 over BC tonight.
Best game start to finish of the season.
Emily Madril really coming on at Right back.
Both she and Carle are dangerous going forward, but
while that was impressive, I saw here dispossess numerous
    BC players.
She is going to be a beast!
    Anna Patten at holding MF.
Not a bad group and KT is staying aggressive.
Heck even Megan was aggressive in her limited time.
JMHO, but I think Mark is telling his team that if you do not
play tough, you will not play!

FSU 3 vs BC 0: I don't want to be negative here but somehow the team played better without ME and MC today. Lets see how they perform this Sunday against Duke.

You probably saw both of them in last game......Dorosy was just cleared to play from illness..... Pezzino has been available...not sure why she is not getting time.

Disagree with you about ME...she will be a big loss.
ME has been a non-factor for past 2 years.....IMHO she has been a detriment on and off the field. Glad to see more hard working, team oriented players getting time over her.

I assume the second ME above should have been MC.
I'm beginning to see some life and passion from this team.
Hope we see continued improvement against Duke and UF.

Down by 2 and we still don't press their back line?? Can anyone explain the thinking here? So disappointing ☹️

    No clue!
We also need to put more balls in the box. They pass around the perimeter like they are waiting for the defense to lie down.
When you are down you have to put numbers of balls into the box. With the right bounce, you score.
Duke was much better with precision passing.
We were off just a tad.
Got to be more aggressive defensively!
    Oh well, live and learn.
Despite her shortcomings, OB is willing to serve it into the box.
With 20 seconds to go we're still passing it around the perimeter.

    Wow!

Just watched the goal replays on Duke website. Miller gifted them the second one, she flat dropped it. Anyone who saw the game, did FSU have any legitimate scoring chances? FSU seems to be lacking anyone with good pace, something elite teams like Duke have.

No elite pace. Some good speed, but not elite.
The difference was Duke's passing all over the field was more precise than
    FSU's.
I think part of that is a function of age/experience.

Got Jukes and Tom or anyone else. Id love to here thoughts on the mediocrity that has become FSU soccer. What are they missing, what has caused such losses to the likes of USA, Utah and Alabama the last two years? Has Mark missed on recruiting? Are the players just not good?

I have no inside info, but from my observations it has to do with chemistry!
I've watched highlights of our championship team and when we scored there was genuine euphoria and jumping all over each other. You could tell they liked and respected each other.
This team's celebrations are muted at best. I suspect they questions Mark's choices of certain players. I also think girls are more prone to petty jealousies and intrigues than guys. That is the very antithesis of good chemistry.
Speaking solely of this year, I think the injuries to Berkely and McFarland are really hurting. McFarland has a much better all around game and physicality than DD.
Berkely would man one outside back freeing up either Carle or Madril to fill in for Macayla or improve our wide MF game.

Not enough fight in this team.
That said, benching KT earlier has brought out more fight in her. That, IMHO, is why Megan is not seeing much time. She's not a fighter.
I would pay big money (figuratively) to have that girl from Louisville ?Ekic? She's not more skilled than ours, just more committed and willing to fight for it.

To be fair to Mark, this is a very young team with 5 Fr starters.
The difference between us and Duke to me, was they were significantly better at connecting passes. The difference in those passes is small, but the results are huge.
I believe FSU will be there, but maybe not this year!
Bringing back Castellanos, McFarland, Berkely, Robbins, Tillman, Gloriana, Patten, Carle, Madril (that's my girl), Kuikka and letting Dorosy and Dorosy and Edwards and bringing in Jaelin Howell will have this team loaded.
Big question will be how Bollinger does replacing Cassie.

This season's not over, but at least last weekend, Duke was clearly better.

Sorry, I only look at this thread from time to time and from a very far away perspective, mostly because there are interesting young internationals in it. So, excuse me for the question if the answer is obvious: why those players you mention need to be "brought back"? Why aren't they playing? Technical choices? Injuries? (It would seem odd not to play Deyna Catsellanos otherwise, for instance).
