That was actually pretty good attendance in Miami Gardens. I am impressed. Especially since there is another game on Saturday that will be a full house.
Interesting stat for the night: 275,000+ attended soccer games across the US tonight!! #FCB-#MUFC: 80k#PSG-#Juve: 44k#USA-#JAM: 63k#HalaMadrid-#MCFC: 90k🔥⚽️🔥 pic.twitter.com/9QczclfGwY— World Soccer Talk (@wsoccertalk) July 27, 2017
Add in the 15k for the Philadelphia-Columbus MLS game and the 11k for four USL games and that puts it over 300k for pro games in the United States that night. However, it's still short of the 382k who went to 19 pro games in the United States (ICC, MLS, NASL, USL and NWSL) on Aug. 2, 2014 (a Saturday).

I wonder if Aleksander Ceferin knows that "New York City" doesn't have large stadiums. I would think UEFA would want something larger than Yankee Stadium. UEFA could try MetLife Stadium (formerly Giants Stadium), which isn't in New York City.
When it comes to soccer when people say NYC they usually mean the general area not the specific city. Just like whem people say Los Angeles when really they play in the Rose Bowl. Or when they say Miami when really they are in Miami Gardens, etc.
Since you brought it up, I think the biggest opposition for a Super Bowl in Europe would be the Television Networks. They are so used to a 6:30 PM EST Kickoff... ... that would be 11:30 PM in England or Germany. Just does not work out logistically. A Champions League in the USA at 2:45 PM EST works out well since it is a Saturday. Not so much if it were like the old Wednesday schedule.
I know. That is why I said it would not work so much if the old schedule was applied. Filling up an NFL Stadium at that time in Ny/Nj or Chicago or Miami would be a nightmare.

It would make most people not have work the day after the Super Bowl. Since there's an off week with the Pro Bowl between the Conference Championship games and the Super Bowl, the Super Bowl could be moved up a day while still providing the players with enough rest. The NHL and NBA play mostly at night. The biggest sports competition with a Super Bowl on Saturday would be NCAA Basketball.
