Ahead of the curve again. Also, sad that Chicago's #1 soccer fan is considering pulling the plug on the Andell Inc. L.L.C. Fire. There's been a time, or two (or three) when Fanaddict has bucked up my own flagging support. If club and league management haven't seen fit yet to find new ownership, this should be more than a shot across the bow of the A.S.S. MLS Chicago, it's a shot through the keel.
Agreed. If Fanaddict goes, you are left with Don and a bus load of the globally curious, mixed with a few AYSO teams on a Dippin Dots run. I have maintained for awhile that this club is dead. If Fanaddict goes, it would be equivalent to the family who stops going to the cemetery to lay flowers once in a while.
Always happy to float you a Skyway ticket during the season! I usually have plenty. Too bad, they don't open the Skyway, although our seats were excellent.
-Donald Trump might be president and the Cubs might win the world series. I'm not optimistic there will be a 2017.
I love the Fire, which is why I have had to not give it money for the last few years. It's like loving an addict. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is not stand behind its decisions.
In a just world Fanaddict would get free box season tickets from the Fire. Every day, year in and out, he's supported the Fire while being even-keel and informed fans of everything going on. That he's drawn a line in the sand should spell how disastrous the Fire look.
I still am giving money to the Fire even though I know things are over. I once had passion for this team! For many years. Now I can't get past the owner and management of the team. I just can't cheer for a team that is owned by Andrew Hauptman. I can't cheer for a team associated with Nelson Rodriguez. It is almost like having a girlfriend that you absolutely love and then she broke up with you and is now seeing some scumbag. The feelings are still there, but the respect is long gone. Does that make any sense?
Join the growing list of fans (many who were around from the beginning) by not giving Andrew Hauptman's version of the Fire another cent. I've been season ticket free for two years now and I'm much happier not watching the shit show in person. Money I would've spent on the Fire has gone to the Red Stars (season tickets and merchandise) and Aurora Borealis SC (season tickets and merchandise).
Thanks guys. This is the last chance this current crew has to not only spend money but pick the right people. Up until now we have been horrible and as someone once said in sports when you're cheap and stupid there is not much hope for you.
I'm still holding out hope that the league is just waiting until the offseason to make an announcement about the club. I know, take that sh!t to the optimism thread...but let me finish. If there is an announcement I fear it will be the club is leaving Chicago.
Yeah, the press release will read something like the league is still committed to Chicago and discussing options with potential investors.
I think IF the club was switching owners we might hear about it from the Don during the interview he regularly does during the halftime show of the final OR with in the week following the final. In other words if we don't hear anything about it in the next week it won't happen. To get to the Depressing part of my thread and make this post LEGIT I think life is too cruel and unusual and that there WILL not only be a President Trump in the whitehouse but also an Andell Fire playing in Bridgeview in 2017 and if so, I will not be there.
