Bradley has been quietly top notch today.

To anyone on BS the past few months who has said that Dempsey is past it: Name any other US player who could have come into this game and had the effect he has had? Pulisic - maybe. Agudelo? Please. Dwyer? Umm. No. Dempsey as super sub for World Cup 2018 is looking pretty good.

Great opportunity for a 2nd but Zardes shows why he shouldn't be in this squad.

He was joking. They had Dempsey's name on top of the list but since Donovan has more assists that should be the tie breaker. He said so why is my name not on top? Was in jest.

It wasn't that bad, but he said Dempsey should stop scoring and they'll share the scoring record. Then a little dig about assists.

CRC have to be a bit angry. At which point does caution become cowardice? Players have to feel a bit gutted by their coach.

Deuce continues his streak of scoring in every NT tournament he's ever played in

He said "feel free to quit now and we share the record" - I thought it was funny and not mean-spirited.

Isn't that exactly what people are saying? He's past being a starter? Maybe I've misread a lot of posts.

He's an absolute beast at that role, and has spent far too little of his national team career actually playing it.

MOTM? Usually it's obvious. My candidates are Howard, Morris, Dempsey, Nagbe, Besler. Honorable mentions for Arriola, Villafaña, Acosta.... great team victory (assuming CRC don't score two in 1 minute)!

edit: MB had a tremendous game. Zusi scarcely put a foot wrong. Jozy with a beautiful finish. That was the best US performance I have seen in a long time.

yellow. Why do the US players receive so little respect, protection from refs? Ridiculous.

Besler has been very good too.

2-0 win over Costa Rica. Bradley, Howard, Besler, Nagbe very good. Altidore scores. Deuce comes in as super sub scores. Arriola and Acost show they belong. Can you imagine what a shit show this would have been with Colonel Klink still in charge?

    On to the final...

MOTM is Dempsey, with Howard being a close second.
