Good article, although it contains a factual mistake. Nagasato is not "neé Ogimi": Nagasato is her maiden name. She married an Ogimi and was knew with this name for most of her career, but she recently reverted to Ogimi when she divorced from her husband in 2016. The mistake makes sense, beacuse she was knew as Ogimi along the best years of her career, but in fact she's born Nagasato. Similar to me to Rampone's situation: since I started following US soccer when she had that name, I wasn't actually aware of who Christie Pearce was, this season! Although, if I get it right, in this case there is no divorce involved.

For the non-link clickers, here is the article, edited for length: When Bastian Schweinsteiger ($5.4 million this season) confesses to being something of a soccer nerd, he isn't fooling around. Even after the last of his Fire teammates had gone to the locker room, he stayed. First he chose to kick a soccer ball back and forth with Chicago Red Stars players as they waited to use the field while the Fire finished. Not just a couple of kicks but a lengthy game of long ball paired with some good-natured banter. As the Red Stars -- in second place in the National Women's Soccer League standings at 4-2-1 and 13 points -- took the field to begin their training session, Schweinsteiger stayed to watch. He watched so intently, at first he didn't hear Fire coach Veljko Paunovic yelling to him from 40 yards away. He even inspired Paunovic to join him. "I'll go down there and learn something," said Paunovic, something of a soccer nerd himself. "Seriously, these guys (the Red Stars) are good." [My bold]

with their 1-0 win over Seattle, CRS is currently in 2nd place. They were my pre season favorites, partly because so many played & her phenom season in this last winter(summer over there) Australian league. Just surprised that it took them a while to jell
I was not at the game yesterday due to some commitments, but did Red Stars new Japanese acquisition Yuki Nagasoto dress yesterday? When will she be available to play?
She didn't play. I guess her papers are still pending, but I have no idea about when she will actually be allowed to play.
