Starts in the first league match against Charleroi: Deze 11 staan te trappelen om het nieuwe seizoen van de #jpl te beginnen tegen @SportCharleroi! #COBW #chagnt #jpl pic.twitter.com/l4eiP6mMVT— KAA Gent (@KAAGent) July 28, 2019 Morioka is starting for Charleroi. First Japanese derby of the season.
Started and played 59 minutes in the Europa Leage second qualifying round this evening. His team lost 1-2, but they qualified 7-5 on aggregate to the third qualifying round.
Kubo started today instead. Wanted to watch Tomiyasu but couldn't find a stream so ended up watching Gent. He was easily the most dangerous player but despite creating several chances on goal he wasn't rewarded he couldn't slot it in. He hockey assisted the first goal of the team opening the ball on the flank for the cross however.
I think Kubo is 3rd in attacking order at the moment. Depoitre is untouchable, and the ukrainian guy is pretty good. He'll have to fight the spot with him. That said EL should also give more rotation time.
Yaremchuk the Ukrainian was left out of the squad in this match too, as it was the case with Kubo, which makes one think that the coach is rotating his squad. Both of Depoitre and Yaremchuk are ahead of Kubo in the picking order, Jonathan David is also considered in this position (although he is used in the attacking midfield most of the times), which means that the team has a variety of good attacking options to cover both the league and EL. Kubo will definitely get his chances, and it’s up to him to secure a place in the starting line-up more consistently.
Apparently he became a father and also missed a game due to that. But doesn’t really matter, Gent are playing with 3 attackers and he’s number 6 or even 7 in the picking order. Only 4 and 5 make the bench.
He will leave during this winter transfer window: Yuya Kubo, Jean-Luc Dompé and Dylan Bronn will leave KAA Gent this month. According to RTBF, Jess Thorup doesn't count on them anymore. #KAAGent #transferwindow #COBW pic.twitter.com/pmm0nVubDN— KAA Gent News (@KaaGentNews) January 1, 2020
