Didn't play tonight. While one of his rivals for playing time, 18 years old Canadian Jonathan David, came in as a second half substitution and scored a brace.

    Things getting tough for Yuya.

Bench again. Either there's a transfer incoming or he's out of the picture at the moment.

He has been always inconsitenf, which made his coaches drop him to the bench somettimes during his stints both at Young Boys and Gent.

Anyhow, I think the best option for him is to move outside Belgium, as he has already proved himself there and has nothing to learn and benefit from.

A move to a bigger league like France, Germany, bottom-half of the table team in England (if he manages to get the work permit as Muto did) or one of the top 4 teams in Portugal would be beneficial for him, even if he is not guaranteed a starting spot there.

Good call if it happens. Nurnberg has always welcomed Japanese players.

It will be a 1-year loan with a purchase option.
Medical check to be done on Sunday.

Hasn't been playing at all in preseason matches which is not good news.

I think he can still be a success, but it will take some work.

A move to STVV or Portimonense would be good in my opinion.

Japan's hero in the WCQ, yet didn't make it to the World Cup roster. Everything went downhill since then.

Ironically, it is not just Kubo, Asano’s and Ideguchi’s careers too went south in the last 18 months (or let me say since Japan secured their WC qualification). All three were vital in that WCQ, scoring crucial goals and have positive contribution, with Asano and Ideguchi scoring Japan’s two goals against Australia which guaranteed Japan’s qualification to the 2018 WC.

Actually I've seen reported two weeks ago that he was injured and probably should be back around now, so no worries. However he is still losing some pre season.

    Starts & scores against AZ.
Started against STVV the other day too.
It seems Gent is now playing 4-3-1-2 Kubo as second striker.

That camera view should've been a standard for TV broadcasting.

These camera views actually always exist since they are used for statistical purposes. Unfortunately broadcasting companies prefer to use close ups for dramatic effect so most often you'd need to work as professional scout or work at some service provider of statistical evaluation etc. to be able to access such recordings.

Also, the sponsors logos would be too small to be identifiable / legible on TV ;)

also just scored a brace... I think Gent got a bit lucky with a PK and it looks like now they are dominating.

Good to see him score after spending last season in a chaotic and messy team.

Hopefully he keeps up with this performance on a more regular basis, he lacks a bit of consistency imo.
