Apparently, the Doumbia deal may be still on. It looks like he might actually just be trying to field offers from other teams.

Sporting also after Wout Weghorst, a tall, big Dutch CF like Dost. Plays for AZ Alkmaar.

Racing's president saying they never received an offer for Acuna, but the deal is very much alive. He would also be a great addition.

Marcos Acuna in action - seems to have a good left foot and good skill:

I think Doumbia would be an excellent addition in our league, good to hear that deal is still alive

Hope we don't accept any offer from Roma for Medeiros but will he be given a chance realistically ?

Fernandes is another good addition, I'm liking our business in terms of incoming so far we just need to clear the rest of the deadwood and get Matheus out on loan

Do Geraldes and Iuri play the same position? If so, is it one or the other?

Both are talented, I think Geraldes is more of a genuine playmaker and would probably play that "Joao Mario" role, except that Gelson owns that spot and plays as a pure winger.

Iuri is left footed so I would see JJ play him on the left (if he isn't loaned)

Got it. So you think Podence stays playing left wing along with maybe Iuri?

It's possible, but we've been actively looking for a left winger (Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Martinez have been constantly linked to us) and Bruno Cesar can also play the role, so I think Iuri play another position or get loaned out again

Luri drives me nuts. For the last few seasons, he attends our pre-season/camp and never shows up. Never impresses. Then he gets loaned out and kills it. Frustrating to see.

I'd like for him to stay, but unless he really impresses, he's going to fight for minutes or get loaned out again.

I just don't know about the first part of your claim. No one shows up or impresses in pre-season since it's predominantly limited minutes for everyone. But the dude HAS showed up during the season with every club he plays on. He absolutely, 100% deserves a spot on this team.

Agreed 100% but why does he always get loaned out? Never takes the opportunity to distance himself from the pack in pre-season. It's the only time you have to shine with so much competition.

It could also be that some players aren't meant for big clubs, but I don't think this is the case. At least I hope not.

OFFICIAL: Bruno Fernandes signs for Sporting CP on a 5 year deal - the club communicated to the CMVM (public trading commission) that they have agreed to acquire the player for 8.5M euros + 500K in bonus objectives from Sampdoria. This makes him the 3rd highest transfer for us behind Bas Dost (10M euros) and Elias (8.8M euros). His release clause is set at 100M euros.

Sampdoria also will keep 10% of any future profit.

    OJOGO:

    Dost + Doumbia = WET

If I had to guess, I'd say Adrien Silva will be moving on. Would be a bummer but he is older and is ready for a new challenge.

The other main news outlets saying the same thing now. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Then again he might end up signing for Benfica, lets wait for the official news. Also it would be nice to get some confirmation on Coentrao, its been like 2 weeks since Florentino basically confirmed the move and still nothing.

Marcos Acuna confirmed his intention to leave Argentina this month, saying the board promised him that he could leave. He scored a great goal yesterday for Racing vs Medellin - he really looks like a good player. We've also been linked to Gonzalo Martinez for LW constantly but his price tag is supposedly set at 15M euros.

Green and white makes everyone look better :D

They say the deal is pretty much for 3 years....as they buyout clause that had some goals tied to it has been greatly reduced, so the buyout and the extra 2 year deal is almost guaranteed?
