As for UEFA rankings, they are safe in 15th ahead of Croatia, but behind Greece.

Here is what can happen for Basel

    1. With a win, and a Moscow win by a combined 4 goals, they would win the group. Man U 2nd. Moscow would need to overcome a 9 goal differential.
    2. With a win, and a Man U win, Basel is 2nd.
    3. With a draw and a Man U win, Basel 2nd.
    4. With a draw and a CSKA win, Basel 3rd.
    5. With a loss and a Man U win, Basel 2nd.
    6. With a loss and a Man U draw, Basel 3rd.

At worst, they will end up in the Europa League, at best they will win the group.

YB is out - but can pick up UEFA points with Skenderbeu at home.
Lugani is out - but could get points from FCSB.

There looks to be about 100 people at the stadium for Benfica.

Basel wins 0-2 and finishes in 2nd place. They advance to the knock-out stages. Congrats.

YB and Lugano both win! This has turned out much better European season than expected.

Basel down big at home vs Man City. The multiple transfers for Basel did not help the team. Better season than I anticipated.

I am not too optimistic today. A draw would be awesome if Man City put out there 2nd team. Just not going to happen.

Basel win!!! 1-2 over a very under strength Man City team. They beat Man U and Man City in the same season!

Due to Basel unexpected good European season the Swiss are in much better shape than I thought.
They will go into next season no worse than 12th place. They will get 2 places in the CL and 3 in the EL. They should get a 4th in the EL as the Swiss Cup winner also gets a spot, but it looks like YB will win the league and get the CL Group stage spot.

How does the Swiss Cup determine how many EL spots Switzerland gets? In general if the Cup Winner qualifies for the CL, the next team in the standings gets the EL spot. For example, here's how it would work if a country got 2 CL and 3 EL spots:

Scenario 1: Cup Winner is in the Top 2
    Top 2 to CL
3rd through 5th to EL with the starting round determined by standings

Scenario 2: Cup Winner is 3rd through 5th
    Top 2 to CL
3rd through 5th to EL with the Cup Winner having the last starting round and the other two determined by standings

Scenario 3: Cup Winner is 6th or worse
    Top 2 to CL
Cup Winner has the last EL starting round followed by 3rd and then 4th
5th does not qualify for the EL

Now consider the source, but it it usually pretty accurate for this:
Per this the Swiss get two CL spots.
RSL 2nd place in league - will start in the 2nd Qualifying Round
RSL Champion - will start in Play-off round

Per this the Swiss get three EL spots.
    4th place RSL - 2nd Qualifying Round
    3rd place RSL - 3rd Qualifying Round
    Cup Winner - Group Stage

Now if the Cup winner is in the CL here is what happens -
"When the domestic cup winners (considered as the "highest-placed" qualifier within the national association with the latest starting round) also qualify for the Champions League, their Europa League place is vacated. As a result, the highest-placed team in the league which have not yet qualified for European competitions qualify for the Europa League, with the Europa League qualifiers which finish above them in the league moved up one "place".
When the domestic cup winners also qualify for the Europa League through league position, their place through the league position is vacated. As a result, the highest-placed team in the league which have not yet qualified for European competitions qualify for the Europa League, with the Europa League qualifiers which finish above them in the league moved up one "place" if possible.

So in short, I was incorrect about 6 spots. My mistake.
    If the season ended today
    YB - CL Playoff
Basel - CL 3rd Qualifying Round
FCSG - EL 3rd Qualifying Round
Luzern - EL 2nd Qualifying Round

Cup winner YB of FCZ. If FCZ wins they are in the Group Stage. If YB wins, FCSG gets the group stages, Luzern gets 3rd QR and FCZ the 2nd QR.

    Does that look right?

Switzerland gets 5 spots: 2 Champions League and 3 Europa League. The winner of the Swiss Cup goes to Europa League group stages. If the winner of the Swiss Cup is in the Champions League, the third place team enters the group stage, the fourth place team enters at the third qualifying round, and the fifth place team enters at the second qualifying round. If the winner of the Swiss Cup finishes in the top 4, then the places are adjusted depending on where they finish. If the winner finishes outside of the top 4, then third place gets third qualifying round, and fourth gets second qualifying round.
