I think that's reasonable. Their finances are in rough shape, and I could see them lingering in the Challenge League for a few seasons.
3 March Basel - FCZ The way Basel is playing right now, this could be an FCZ victory. GCZ - LS 4 March Lugano - YB YB needs to keep the pressure up while Basel is not playing well. Sion - Luzern Thun - FCSG The Sion and Thun matches could have a big role in who goes down. If Thun loses and Sion wins, there will only be 1 point that separates them. The opposite would lead to a 7 point gap. Here are the point totals for the last 10 seasons of the club that was the last one who avoided relegation. 35 35 31 42 33 26 32 41 37 41 33 I would think that mid 30s should make one safe. 35 or 36 should do it. There is not a dominant team this year as in past seasons.
3 March Basel - FCZ PPD - The electricity would not work correctly at the stadium. This seems to be a reoccurring problem with FCZ see Aarau last season. GCZ - LS 0-0 4 March Lugano - YB 2-4 Sion - Luzern 1-1 Thun - FCSG 1-2 YB 55 Basel 41 ** FCSG 36 FCZ 32* GCZ 31 Lugano 31 Luzern 31 LS 26* Thun 24 Sion 21 Basel has two games in hand, but 14 points down at this point is not a great sign for them. This might be YB season.

10 March FCZ - Lugano LS - FCSG 11 March Luzern - Basel Sion - Thun YB - GCZ Did the win at Man City restart the campaign for Basel? We will see this weekend. YB needs a good showing vs GCZ to keep a good cushion. Sion and Thun is huge for relegation. It Thun wins, they are at least 6 points up on Sion.
10 March FCZ - Lugano 3-0 LS - FCSG 1-4 11 March Luzern - Basel 1-0 Sion - Thun 7-2 YB - GCZ 3-1 YB goes 17 points up with two matches in hand. Sion drills Thun to move ahead of them. YB 58 Basel 41 FCSG 39 FCZ 35 Luzern 34 GCZ 31 Lugano 31 LS 26 Sion 24 Thun 24
LS - Basel 1-1 Simone Rapp scored in the 89; to level the match. That means that there is a 16 point gap with Basel having one match in hand. So LS is better than Man City!
I don't remember the President of Lausanne-Sport's brother torturing people who disagreed with him, so Lausanne has Manchester City beat in that arena.
Nice. I love the way that some people's brain works. With all of the talk about the NCAA basketball tournament and who got in and who did not, there are lots of discussions about well team A beat Team B who beat Team C who beat Team D. Therefore Team A is better than Team D. That was all I was trying to do. 17 March FCZ - YB FCSG - GCZ 18 March Basel - Sion Lugano - Luzern Thun - LS Could FCSG catch Basel?
17 March FCZ - YB 1-2 FCSG - GCZ 2-1 18 March Basel - Sion 1-0 Lugano - Luzern 1-2 Thun - LS 0-0 The Thun - LS draw hurts LS more than helps Thun. A win for either side would have greatly helped to avoid the drop. I think that the FCSG/Basel fight for 2nd will be very interesting to watch. Imagine going from beating Man U and Man City and advancing to the knockout rounds of the UEFA CL one season, then the EL the next. YB 61 Basel 45* FCSG 42 Luzern 37 FCZ 25* GCZ 31 Lugano 31 LS 28 Thun 25 Sion 24

Lugano fired Pierluigi Tami after they lost 6 straight to fall 3 points outside of the relegation spot. Guillermo Abascal Perez is taking over. He was the manager at Chiasso this season before he was fired. He's considered a very hot prospect in coaching circles. He's only 28 years old (29 on Friday!), and big things are expected of him. Initially it was reported that Ciriaco Sforza was given the job, but he looked at the offer and turned it down.
Crazy to think that GCZ and Lugano are now dragged into the relegation battle. Funny enough, out of the 4 bottom teams, Sion has the best goal differential. They could even climb out of the cellar with a win at Luzern.
11 April Basel - FCZ 3-0 14 April GCZ - FCSG Lugano - Thun 15 April Basel - LS Luzern - Sion YB - FCZ
14 April GCZ - FCSG 1-2 Lugano - Thun 1-1 15 April Basel - LS 2-1 Luzern - Sion 0-1 YB - FCZ 1-0 18 April Basel - GCZ - Remember when this was the match of the season? FCZ - FCSG Sion - Lugano Thun - YB 19 April LS - Luzern YB closing on the title, the first since 1985-1986.
19 April LS - Luzern 0-1 And Celestini has been fired as the manager of LS. Three names that have been mentioned: Pablo Iglesias - Sporting Director of the club Uli Forte and Michel Pont YB 69 Basel 58 FCSG 45 Luzern 43 FCZ 40 Lugano 35 Thun 33 GCZ 32 Sion 31 LS 31
21 April GCZ - Lugano 4-3 FCSG - Thun 0-1 22 April Luzern - FCZ 2-1 Sion - Basel 2-2 YB - LS 4-1 YB 72 Basel 59 Luzern 46 FCSG 45 FCZ 40 Thun 36 GCZ 35 Lugano 35 Sion 32 LS 31 So with 5 marches left, the magic number of points for YB is 3. On the bottom end, LS and Sion look like they will go down to the wire.
All 10 teams, plus Xamax who earned promotion this weekend have received their license for 2018-2019.
