One other thing, I sure hope the players don't take the same attitude a number of people here do. Juve is a team that can easily beat Tottenham.

You play whom ever you draw & kick their ass. Making analysis at this stage is pointless as there is nearly two months before the teams play.

Exactly. Both teams will be in different form by the time they meet. In this respect, Juve's depth could be key. We shall see. Between then and now, Juve have a big test at home vs a team that is just as good as Tottenham. Roma arrive in two weeks!

Sandro better find his form.. I do not want to see Asamoah marking this guy.. even if this was a miss hit.

Tottenham got smoked 4-1 by Man City today

They are definitely beatable, they had no pressure on City and were clumsy on many occasions. However, we can underestimate them, Kane is a type of player that will punish you off a mistake. If we dont screw things up and stay organized, we should beat them comfortably.

They are decent at a high press. If they try that with us we need to be prepared.

If you beat it you can punish them but that requires us to go straight at them, not pull the ball back and work it around.

Another note on Kane, if you watch this clip... its kinda of remarkable how calm and composed he is when setting up a shot or taking one.

Another reoccuring trend is that on many of these goals, there is not a huge amount of power put on them(some do)... he just picks a spot and makes sure he hits it cleanly often into side netting and he delivers.

There are some lucky miss hits or fluffs that end up oddly going into the net.

He should be marked very tightly and whoever marks him should be constantly making him uncomfortable. If Giorgio or Benatia can constantly be physical with him, he wont have this space to set up his shots and their only chances will come on first touch hits when he slips into lanes.

This is the kind of match up Chiello was made for.

Spurs are beating up on United 2-0... one of the goals was just own goal, but Eriksen found the net and he almost just scored another one. They really are owning United right now tho.

Nervous, but looking foreward to this game. If Juve can escape this matchup and advance, it will install a lot of intensity and urgency in Juve's speed of play moving foreward in the tournament.

Kane's shots have been muffs, but the guy plays like a fire is under his feet, his intensity level is on par with Carlos Tevez when he was here. They like to spread the ball around a lot too and are quite good at it, lots of movement, Kane will find a way to create space... Giorgio has the potential to knock him off his form if he is physical and smart in his challenges.

Son will be on the right wing and he is a moderately good player but his first touch isnt too great, I feel good about Sandro being able to handle him.

Delle Ali is not really all that impressive and I know his form has been on a constant decline from reading Spur fans posts on a diff website.

Observations part 2 and im Posting all of this so people can look out for these things during the upcoming game.

The big variable will be containing Eriksen who is the heartbeat of this team... hopefully Max chooses to employ Blaise in the midfield to help contain him. I don't think Pjanic will be able to create very much against them... its like going to be a dog fight game with a few isolated chances to score.

They are up 2-0 in the 70th minute and they are playing like its locked it at nil nil... they dont let up. Will be really interesting to see if Juve can preserve a result should Juve find a goal early on.

They also have good shape when defending and get back quickly... they are on occasion literally swarming all around whichever United player has the ball, its kinda surreal to watch.

Also... Delle Ali has a really bad reputation for hacking players lately and he did that exact same thing tonight when he kicked purposely right at Sanchez's leg. Kane just waited for the defender to get close before he chose to recieve a pass and then took a dive at the top of 18.

Spurs have a competent coach that does understand tactics. They will be a tough matchup.

I am really looking forward to this too. We are favorites and are clearly superior on paper, but the Spurs manager is smart and really does know what tactics are. he will do everything he can to make Spurs frustrate us and try to capitalize on our mistakes. It is going to be difficult, but if we play with urgency and start finding our best form like usual in the second half of the season, we should be able to nick the tie.

Not happy to see Howedes out. He could be very useful. Leave Asamoah or Sturaro out or something.

Howedes has done absolutely nothing besides proving to be unreliable heath wise and there is no need to carry five CB's or an extra FB. Those spots are covered. If anything we're a little thin up top because of injuries but the roster pretty much selected itself. Should be able to win this first game at home no matter who plays.Tottenham are weak on the road which you'll see against Liverpool this weekend as their record against top six EPL teams is not good.

they literally just beat the snot out of United and controlled the game for an entire 90 minutes.

Spurs had 22 shots on goal and held United to just 6 shots.
They hardly let Alexis Sanchez touch the ball and contained Lukaku.
Pogba was so bad that he was subbed out after a hour.
Kane was constantly finding space and getting free from his mark.
They could have sat back and played defense, but they kept fitness and kept trying to score more until the whistle.

    But Spurs have beat...
    Liverpool 4-1 (home game)
    Dortmund 3-1 (home)
    Dortmund 2-1 score (away game)
    Real 3-1 (home)
    Everton 4-0 (home)
Tied with Real when visiting madrid with a scoreline of 1-1.

Arsenal, City, and Leicister, United, have all beat them when Spurs traveled so you are right, but the score lines were all close except for City's 4-0 thrashing.

Wembley is a much wider stadium too is it not?

Wembley is just 1 meter wider than Juventus Stadium. I know Tottenham dominated Man Utd but Man Utd are not a good team. Speaking of that though they will be very tough to play. We need to perform our very best against them. I expect something like Monaco last season.

lol, there are some jokes... that no matter your reasons for stating them, they dont just pan out any other way then the joke ending up being on you.

Maybe he was just trying to jumpstart the thread, maybe he was just telling a shock value joke, but the issue with this is that men will only view the joke as being on the joke tellers behest.
