Stop the flame guys. I was saying he was good but at the beginning of his YB experience he seems AMAZING and a YB fan here said Kubo wad their better thing since ages, something more remarkable then being Gent material. It's a pity he will miss EL challenge this year.
Oh sure, it's a nice fantasy world out there... woah there. Gent was in the R16 in Champions League last year and is currently in the same position in EL (although with an impossible draw on paper). As nice as Young Boys is due to them dominating the swiss league after Basel, we're not in the same ballpark - nor in a similar league. That said, we all would be happy to see him in a Top 5 league when he's ready, so he's gotta keep it up. Not like we have many strikers who are Top 5 material right now :/
Well, you have Okazaki, Osako and Muto. I think Asano is on his way as well, so Japan probably has more top 5 quality strikers than at any previous point in its history.
When is the last time Okazaki has done anything? He's in doubtful form right now. Osako seems rising a bit and Muto, well, let's hope the injuries are over. Asano so far has been a winger in Europe, sadly, but I agree that he should be still used as FW in NT
and the team qualified for the championship playoffs. The first team wins the league and gets to CL group stage; the second team gets to the third qualifying CL round; the third team to the europa league third qualifying round; the fourth team goes to a nonsense "playoff final" against the winner of the "EL playoffs" played by 12 teams the 5th and 6th team instead get nothing... lol while the 15th team could potentially get to EL ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
45' MAGIC !! Kubo dribbles past six defenders and scores!! 2-0 !! World class goal!!! #gntkvm #jpl pic.twitter.com/yDnYLCcuzc— KAA Gent (@KAAGent) March 12, 2017
It's a sin he can't play EL. They need his goal so much... Well at least the next year that's a chance for him to play UCL.
He could potentially be the JNT's CF in WC 2018 competing with Osako for a spot if he continues playing like that.
🇯🇵 Yuya Kubo (@k15189312431y) since joining @KAAGent:11 games8 goals ⚽3 assists 👟 #chagnt #PO1 pic.twitter.com/2e3wvZyXyQ— KAA Gent (@KAAGent) April 17, 2017 (I assume they are counting NT, but then it should be 12 games)
