Our fans have a friendship with Sporting. Wolfsburg, I've been told, has a very large Italian population.

The Good and the Bad from the friendly according to firenzeviola.it....

    GOOD
Cristoforo - Clearly growing as a player in his new role as a complete center midfielder.
Chiesa - Clearly not in top form yet but he always plays with heart and he's always dangerous. Becoming a leader on this team.
Milenkovic - Came in for Hugo in the second half and brilliantly paired with Astori. At the moment he seems a better CB than Hugo.

    BAD

Gaspar - Replaced by Tomovic at the end of the first half as he seemed spent. The feeling is that it's more of a physical deficiency rather than a tactical/athletic deficiency and the hope is that he can be brought up to speed.
Sanchez - Hasn't adapted to Pioli's system as quickly as Cristoforo has. Lots of smiles but his leadership in the locker room is not yet translating into a leadership on the field.
Astori - Not a bad match as he anchored the defense and guided Hugo on the Italian style of defending but we're listing him here for his error that resulted in Bari's goal.

I've been ranting and raving but once again Hagi had some influence on the game. Hope this kid breaks through into the squad as a regular sub. Maybe this years 'Chiesa miracle' story?

I'll be honest the game was so boring from our end I was only half watching. I can't comment on the entire game. Gaspar seemed to get involved often though. He seems determined, definitely needs to adjust and get more comfortable.

FIORENTINA (4-2-3-1) Sportiello; Tomovic, Milenkovic, Astori, Ranieri; Veretout, Cristoforo; Chiesa, Hagi (Meli), Zekhnini; Babacar

Our probable lineup against Eintracht today. Kalinic made the trip, as well.

That madrid friendly makes absolutely no sense. It'll be played 3 days after our opener to Inter...

Chiesa with 2 and Milenkovic with another, currently up 3-2 with 5 to play. Anyone watching? If so, how do we look?

Chiesa will surely be a starter this season. If he builds on his form from last season I can see some big boys trying to swoop in for 40-50m

Ahaha same here, it was so bizzare. but to be honest the performance was ok, until we played vs a Sporting club de Portugal who's in preparation for championsleague qualification.

If i remeber right Chiesa has the numner 11 now? hrrhrhrhr

Pretty sure Chiesa took 11. I'm curious as to who took 7 and 10.

I don't understand the Madrid fixture. We play Inter round one then fight off to Madrid for a mid week friendly..... WHY?

We had him on *our* team last season. Did you notice how that turned out?
