He really did give joy, just not to/for Minnesota fans. But the rest of us saw goals galore, and it was fun.
I had made my comment when I just saw the full list of available players and Minnesota hadn't put out their list. So, yeah, my bad on that. Didn't realize he was considered a HG player.
There is the possibility Minnesota don't really care if they lose him. And I'm not convinced he has any trade value. Outside of a lower round draft pick, I don't see it.
Buckle up Hearing from multiple sources that Atlanta is looking to acquire Darlington Nagbe... If a deal were to go through then I'm being told it would be for an amount that would have Clips Dom Dwyer's fee to Orlando earlier this year.— Kristian Dyer (@KristianRDyer) December 11, 2017 Hearing Nagbe could be on the move to @ATLUTD in the near future. #MLS— Taylor Twellman (@TaylorTwellman) December 11, 2017
I thought the Barco stuff meant that Asad wasnt coming back. Barco will take his spot. Nagbe next to Carmona deeper. 940331857576710144 is not a valid tweet id
Likely would be a DP due to the fee that Velez would want for him. With the TAM injection then they could have probably bought him, bought Villalba down below DP threshold and still brought in Barco. Spending a lot (Dwyer plus levels of TAM and GAM) would make that a lot harder to pull off. Plus that puts 4 DP/TAM level players (high cost ones as well) along that 3 behind Martinez. Again, all this changes if they don't actually bring in Barco or they sell Villalba or Almiron (or they get Asad on the cheap). Of course I'm also projecting Barco as a box to box with Nagbe going out wide where Asad was. TBH, I have no clue what kind of line-up you throw out there if you have all these different attacking players. There is also a reason I've never coached anywhere yet alone at Barca.

I was thinking something like this if they buy the Argentinian Wunderkind ----------------------------Carlos Carmona-------------------------- ----Vallaba-----------------------------------------Nagbe--------- ---------------Almiron-----------Ezequiel Barco--------------- -----------------------------Josef Martinez--------------------------- Build the MLS Deathstar - and to hell with shields. Gressel on the bench, you also add Goslin and Carleton who apparently will get a lot of minutes this coming season...if they can find someone to pair with Escobar, and decent RB, that's probably the best XI in the league, and a team that can match Toronto.
I know that this probably does not belong here, but with Nagbe's supposed move ... I found it funny. Has Nagbe seen his own heat map? pic.twitter.com/HSa1Wilnwg— Bryan Rice (@bricey16) December 11, 2017
I was tempted last night to respond to the guy that thought MLS should stop blocking players from big time teams. Like Celtic. The team that has lost to Malmo and Maribor in 2 of the last 3 UCL qualifiers and has something like a -30 or so GD in the group stages in the last 5 years is a "big time" club. If they are big time then I sure hope we see more players playing for BATE Borisov in Belarus since they have a similar (if not better) record in UCL group stages in the last 5 years. Oh, and just for the hell of it I looked up the team that beat St. Johnstone this year in UEL qualifying. It was the team in Lithuania that David Arshakyan used to play for (in a league where he managed to score 25 goals in 2015, two less than the number of minutes he saw in the regular season this year).
Yep, Atlanta are a bit old in the CM positions and with their style they need guys who can cover some ground. Nagbe is in his prime and could probably do with not being forced to be the figurehead. That last bit seems to me to be key. You see it again and again in sports. A guy who is really talented but doesn't really want or need the spotlight. A move to a team with a better player in it often seems to lead to championships. With Atlanta he could really shine in a backgroundey sort of way.
Any time you get a chance to dump on the Scottish league, feel free to tag me in your post. I love doing that. "What do you mean Hearts isn't a big team? This is a great move for Perry Kitchen!"
LAFC goes with Tyler Miller (Seattle) first. Second is Latif Blessing from SKC. SKC may have shot themselves in the foot by getting his green card before the expansion draft. The third pick is Marco Urena from San Jose.
Raitalla? So much for not picking international players. Course we sit here assuming these guys are still going to be in LA in an hour. And there goes Raheem Edwards. Matt Doyle will be pleased with himself.
So, yes, there were 5 players available who LAFC thought better of than Miguel Ibarra. Sadly, Vadim Demidov was not one of them. Oh, well. Maybe Miami.
LAFC can't be sitting on all those Int spot players. Looks like Raitala and Edwards is offered to IMFC in a package for Ciman. Though surprised neither Attinella or Irwin got picked. And SJ exposing Urena was stupid IMO edit: Jeff Carlisle reporting Edwards and Raitala traded to IMFC for Ciman. Fate worse than fate worse than death. A Torontonian forced to play for Montreal
https://www.torontofc.ca/post/2017/...ontreal-impact-following-2017-expansion-draft Edwards and Raitala for Ciman confirmed. I feel bad for Ciman, as he only agreed to sign for IMFC for medical care for his daughter, and IMFC did not consult Ciman for the trade.
http://www.espnfc.com/major-league-...s-savarese-to-manage-portland-timbers-sources That's a lot of money Atlanta is willing to pay for some stepovers and field goal shots.
I'm always a little surprised when foreign players sign in MLS, because they relinquish so many of the rights granted to players elsewhere. Having full control over the location in which you play primary among them.
