Is that poster really from the Roughnecks FO? Why does it say "Houston Dynamos"? I get the reference but "Dynamos"? The FO can't spell or do they really not know the name of the team?
My super un-important and needless rankings of the released jerseys Sacramento Bethlehem Swope Park Pittsburgh Louisville City Tulsa San Antonio Cincinnati Rio Grande If I could, I would lump the last two together. Bland and boring
1. Yes, that poster's official and it's been up at bars/pubs/restaurants all over town for weeks now. FO has no previous soccer experience, so I doubt it was a typo. They're all baseball people pulling double duty on the soccer side of things. Kinda reminds me of a minor league version of when the Pats took over operations/marketing for the Revs in the late 90's? Silver lining is that the guy doing PBP for them was an all-state soccer player, I believe. 2. At least they're trying, as they seem to be marketing the club with roughly the same energy (pun intended) they've reserved for the Drillers (at least, so far). And they really should be, considering how Roughnecks soccer tickets are about twice the price they charge for AA baseball games here. 3. The PA announcer won't likely butcher Cristian Mata's name quite as badly this season... last year he kept mis-pronouncing his first name as "Christy-Anne," which is frankly worse than just anglicizing it as "Christian."
Like I've said, I like Pittsburgh, but something's a bit off with the yellow one and its smaller sponsor logo. I assume it's a template jersey, so the band cannot be expanded to take a larger sponsor logo?
Ah, the black and white stripes. I'd love it if those were the home kits, but I'm assuming that's the all yellow kit.
That makes me so happy. Since I first of the Rhinos as a teenager I've hoped they'd go black and white stripe home kits.
