No that won't be what keeps them from D2 obviously, but with the Usl attempting to meet higher standards in seeking D2 sanctioning for 2017 this reflects poorly on them to have their attendance reporting actually achieving lower standards this year and regressing from past years. Its not rocket science to have a competent staff reporting all attendances for a professional league.

Unofficial (obviously) and with only about 84% of games reported (been a challenging couple of weeks for USL reporting attendance): Team...........................Average FC Cincinnati...................16,742 Sacramento Republic FC..........11,500 Louisville City FC...............7,124 San Antonio FC...................6,367 OKC Energy FC....................4,971 Saint Louis FC...................4,921 Tulsa Roughnecks FC..............4,160 Richmond Kickers.................4,005 Charleston Battery...............3,946 Rochester Rhinos.................3,717 Wilmington Hammerheads FC........3,083 Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC..3,049 Bethlehem Steel FC...............2,478 Real Monarchs SLC................2,322 Portland Timbers 2...............2,297 Pittsburgh Riverhounds...........2,115 Rio Grande Valley FC.............1,962 Swope Park Rangers KC............1,740 Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.........1,719 Arizona United SC................1,579 Harrisburg City Islanders........1,514 Charlotte Independence...........1,416 Seattle Sounders FC 2............1,358 LA Galaxy II.....................1,118 Orlando City B...................1,039 Toronto FC II....................1,018 Orange County Blues FC.............996 New York Red Bulls II..............393 FC Montreal........................375 USL TOTAL........................3,675
Here's who I'm missing (MLS O&O's in bold): Charleston (5) Montreal (4) NYRBII (4) Orange County (4) Orlando (4) Rochester (4) Bethlehem (3) Real Monarchs (3) Rio Grande Valley (3) Wilmington (3) Colorado Springs (2) Harrisburg City (2) LAGII (2) Portland (2) Charlotte (1) OKC (1) Pittsburgh (1) Sacramento (1) Saint Louis (1) San Antonio (1) Seattle (1) Swope Park (1) Toronto (1) Tulsa (1) Vancouver (1) I only have every game from Arizona, Cincinnati, Louisville and Richmond. I can't explain what Charleston's problem is. They don't even put attendance figures on all their own releases all the time. Clubs who have routinely been challenged to do the seemingly simplest things don't seem to be able to do this, either. I know the numbers exist. They're just not all getting onto USL's website for some reason.
Realize this is me asking someone else to do my homework for me, but for those with attendance spreadsheets, how hard would it be to break down the attendance figures of independent clubs when playing other independents v MLS2 teams. Be some good info when trying to break down how much the MLS2 help and hurt USL as a whole.
It's been done. Minimal attendance difference for teams regardless of who the visiting team is. +/- 3% if I remember correctly.
T2 fell behind Real Monarchs in attendance, urgh. Thats partly due to Timbers front office having the Concacaf Champions league game on at the same time as the T2 game. I was at the CCL game like most, Im guessing there was barely 1,000 at it. Which T2 games are you missing?
http://www.timbers.com/post/2016/08/14/usl-match-recap-portland-timbers-2-2-orange-county-blues-fc-1 T2 didn't play on 8/3!
With very few exceptions, the identity of the visiting team has long been far, far less important than the day of the week, the time of the year and the resources brought to bear by the front office of the home team. Arizona doesn't draw when playing T2 or S2 not because people don't get excited about buying tickets to see T2 or S2 play, but because Arizona plays in a baseball stadium and it's 110 degrees here much of the time and they don't know what they're doing. But if you're truly curious, when Independent teams host other Independent teams, they average 5,009. When they host MLS2 teams, they average 5,129. Breaking it down further would result in very small sample sizes.
Wednesday, 8/3, they didn't beat Colorado Springs 2-1 at Merlo Field? http://www.timbers.com/post/2016/08...timbers-2-1-colorado-springs-switchbacks-fc-1 Actually that recap has the number I need, many thanks.
What week are you missing for San Antonio. I can see if I can get the attendance from the team. I know someone who might be able to give it to me.
8/20 vs. Seattle. I routinely go back a couple weeks after the fact and check to see and sometimes numbers have miraculously appeared. But any help anyone can render is always greatly appreciated. Thank you!
http://www.timbers.com/post/2016/08...timbers-2-1-colorado-springs-switchbacks-fc-1 not sure how I missed that lol. oop's this should have you 100% with T2 but bring down the average
