I figure we can use a thread to talk about this year's games, starting with preseason. So last night we lost 1-0 to DC United. Their goal was kind of questionable considering both a possible foul and the ball possibly going out of bounds before the assist. More troubling is the Rowdies got plenty of chances to equalize in the second half as they caught the opposing defense in disarray and once again the finishing was utterly lacking. Heinemann in particular butchered one chance by completely mishandling a ball, and failed to put away a fortunate breakaway later on. Here's hoping that's just preseason rust and not just more typical Rowdies. Other than that it was a really choppy and uneven performance as to be expected from the first game I guess. Here's the highlights of the match: And since it was on YouTube, the entire game is archived here. Recap
Still think the boys in green and gold pretty good, I mean it was the first game of the preseason and being against a MLS Opponent, not too bad, I'm just glad we didn't get embarrassed
While Heinemann didn't finish on that breakaway towards game's end, I love how he used that big body to create space and beat his defender. Too many times last year it seemed our forwards could not separate. I hope this is a taste of things to come!
I am going to post that in multiple forums to ensure people on different forums see it so I get the best answer. Duh
I cared that the Rowdies were competitive, and we did have chances. Stoked to see Savage back. We need him for our attack.
Wasn't able to catch this one live but looks like a tale of two halves again, though much fewer chances for the Rowdies overall. Adu played but his only real highlight was a nice delivery on a corner. Full match Unsubs Recap
The Rowdies held their own against Drogba and the Montreal Impact, settling for a 0-0 tie but they had chances to smash and grab this one thanks to the heroic play of Pickens in goal. The midfield looked solid and in sync, Stu may have finally found a formula to build off of in this last game, which is great to see. Definitely the best preseason game by far, so got to love the progress made. Next up is USF on March 5th and then that trip to England! Wednesday, March 9 – vs Nottingham Forest XI at Nottingham Forest Training Ground Friday, March 11 – vs Notts County XI at either Meadow Lane or Nottingham Forest Training Ground Tuesday, March 15 – vs Stoke City XI at St. Georges Park Full match Unsubs recap
by the way..Thanks Mr. Edwards! This invitational was dope. I hope we can do it again, and I hope you made so money from it too!
Yeah what a fantastic idea. Brilliantly executed. A lot of people took note. The streaming was great and brought a lot of eyeballs to what we're doing here in Tampa Bay.

First-Team Pair Feature In Friendly Charlie Adam and Stephen Ireland feature as Under 21s draw with Tampa Bay Rowdies... The Florida-based outfit had already held Nottingham Forest to a 2-2 draw and claimed a 3-2 win against Notts County during their tour, and looked to be on course for another triumph courtesy of a well-taken second half effort. http://mobile.stokecityfc.com/news/article/first-team-pair-feature-in-friendly-3009136.aspx via @stokecity
