He didn’t get on the scoresheet in his Revs’ debut, but Kei Kamara’s energy and muscle contributed in a 2-0 victory. Veteran Lee Nguyen and rookie Femi Hollinger-Janzen got the goals as New England held Chicago to four shots (none on goal). Kamara took six of the Revs’ 16 shots and landed four on-target.

New addition Kei Kamara looked lively in his new environment and could have even added a goal or two on his debut as the Revolution dominated the Fire in a 2-0 win on Saturday. More important for the Revs, though, is that they finally kept a shutout, their first since March 12, a span of 10 games.

Soccer America and SI had us dead last? No way Chicago and Houston were better than us last week, no matter how bad we were vs. LA. I thought the MLS ranking of 16-17 or so was more accurate.

That's like saying "hey teacher, I deserved a D not an F last semester! No fair." Either way, the revs are in the bottom quadrant of the league which basically means they suck.

True, but you have to wonder about their judgment. We suck, but we don't suck as much as Chicago or Houston (or after this week, NYC--how can you lose your "rivalry" game by a touchdown?)

When those rankings were made, the Revs were bottom of the league in points per game, I believe, and weren't looking good on the field. I don't think it's egregious to pick the team that's last in ppg as the worst in the league.

I'm already cringing about what the next ranking is going to look like. Not going to be pretty ...

We're tied with Columbus at third worst in points per game at 1, with Houston virtually tied with Chicago, .92 vs .91, respectively. I can see Chicago being ahead of us in a power ranking, which I think is supposed to be more about recent form, and Chicago won, but Houston being ahead of us seems a bit odd to me, seeing as they lost to Chicago, but I guess it's because Houston was on the road, while we lost at home. SI has Houston at 17, and Chicago behind us, while SA has Chicago, Houston, then us at the bottom. But as has been said, the exact spot doesn't matter that much, I can't see anybody having a problem with us being in the bottom 3 or 4.

Lee Nguyen led the Revs back from conceding an early goal by swerving a corner kick Juan Agudelo headed in for the equalizer, then winning and converting a penalty kick. But a goal conceded from a corner re-tied the game and centerback Sambinha’s scuffled clearance turned into the winning goal. Yet despite a bad run of one win in the last eight games, the Revs are just one point out of the playoff tier.

The Revolution did well to build a 2-1 lead after a suspect penalty gave FC Dallas an early lead. The Revs’ defense hurt them again in the second half, though, as Sporting CP loan acquisition Sambinha gave away the winning goal with a sloppy giveaway. Kamara is still waiting for his first goal in Revolution colors.

Woo hoo, 4 teams suck more than us -- we're not in the power rankings relegation zone (yet).

Moved up a bit. Interesting how different people's rankings are, with NYC at 12 in one, and 18 in the other, and SKC .

SI - above Houston, NYCFC, Chicago and SKC.

The Revolution benefited from an especially harsh PK call in a 2-1 home win over Seattle, but after the calls that have gone against them this year it might be the soccer gods doing them a solid. Femi Hollinger-Janzen scored the winner, giving the rookie two goals in his past three games.

Rookie FemiHollinger-Janzen scored his second goal in the past three games (both wins) as the Revs rallied to win. Andrew Farrell played his first game at right back since 2014, with London Woodberry sliding into the middle. Lee Nguyen, who had tied the game from the penalty spot, set up a chance that enabled the Revs to score a second goal in the fifth consecutive game. But they have also conceded 11 goals in those five games.

They meant nine points from 12 possible points I assume. It's nine points from the past 4 games.

Ah, that makes a lot more sense.

Anyone remember the old days when, if you wanted to get published, you would actually have to know how to express your ideas somewhat clearly so that people would have some idea of what you are trying to say?

And hey! Get offa my lawn! This is the LAST TIME I'm gonna warn you!

Ah, that must be it. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what they were intending there.

After winning three of their last four, the Revs were maybe due for a clunker, and faltered on the road for the fourth time in 2016. Their next league match is at Montreal, but league pride will be on the line for their Open Cup game at the NASL Cosmos.

SI doesn't seem to have done one since week 13.
